"Can you believe school started?" Victoria questioned as I walked into her car. Since it was the first day after summer vacation, she offered to drop me to school.

"Nope" I replied smiling. It was nice to speak to her after the long break. Victoria and her family had gone on this amazing tour during the summer break. She had visited Cairo, Rajasthan, yada yada yada.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I loved the outdoors and the sun's warmth. I could smell a strong perfume Victoria had sprayed on herself, or maybe her car. It was not bad, but I wouldn't prefer it over the beautiful smell of the flowers in my garden.

"... and I honestly didn't find anything so mind-blowing about the pyramids. Just a waste of time if you ask me. Whew, all that time standing under the sun has given me a terrible uneven tan. Oh, did I say you look rather good today? ZOE? Hello! Zoe Fernandez?

I opened my eyes and the sound of my name. I looked down at my jeans coupled with a single shoulder red top.

"Thanks" I said and smiled. I looked to the right to see the students of St. Mary Claire walking to their school. It's a pity they have uniforms. Praise the Lord the school I go to, Atlantic High School, allows their students to even wear Levi's.

"Oh check out what I got for you! It's in that box right over there" Vicky said, signaling to a black box on the back seat. I leaned over and grabbed the box. It was a small, black box with nothing on it to give away what was inside. I pulled open the top and found an amazing key-chain with all these colorful designs all over it. I laughed happily. It was really pretty and funky at the same time.

"Thank you! I really needed a keychain for the new bag I bought!" I said grinning like crazy and hugged her as best as I could without interrupting her driving. Victoria just laughed and said "You better like it. I dragged myself around so many shops in Rajasthan to get you that."

"Good thing you were sensible enough not to buy me a glass item" I said jokingly.

"Please don't remind me! That little cupid I gave you last year was so adorable!" Vicky said, over-dramatically wiping fake tears off her cheek.

"Hey! That ball had a mind of it's own. One second it was on the floor and the next, it went flying over to your present."

"You missed that part where you kicked the innocent ball" she said accusingly.

"How do you even kick a ball that hard? Dosen't it like mess your pedicure?"she wondered aloud.

I just laughed and remembered again how very different we are.

I tapped my hand on the window in rhythm to the song blaring out through the speakers. It was a familiar tune but I momentarily forgot the title. While I was banging my brain out for the singer or heaven forbid the title, Victoria said, "Sparks fly, Taylor Swift.". I looked at her, astonished. She smirked at me. That girl could read my mind if she wanted to. Actually, she could read anyone's mind.

As Jessica and I sauntered out of the car and into the school, heads swiveled in our direction. I guess it was hard not to stare at the biological beauty walking out of the striking red car. The most desirable facial features, tall, lean legs, fair skin, glossy blond hair and an extremely pretty floral dress was adorned by her. Yep, that was Victoria. Envied by all girls and loved by all boys.

As soon as we, or more specifically she, left the car the usual group of adoring 'friends' surrounded us. I don't know how celebrities stand it! A bunch of people who claim to love you and in the next second you find them sharing another stupid rumor about you.

"Victoria! You look jaw-dropping in that dress!" Emily said excitedly.

"Oh Vicky! You have the cutest accessories!" Jessica squeaked. After a lot of 'thank you's and 'welcome's I finally snatched Vicky away. Then I saw Jack walking towards us with a fierce determination in his steps.

"Save me, Lord" I mumble.

"Vicky! Long time, no see!" Jack said and gave her his signature wink.

"Wish it had stayed that way" Victoria muttered under her breath.

Jack had this HUMONGOUS crush on Victoria ever since she became the 'pretty and popular' girl. He thought way too much of himself. Just because a few girls had a crush on him, does NOT mean every girl in High School is in love with him.

"Hey sista!" he said to me. "You look... terrible as usual. So I'll catch up with you later Vicky!"

Oh yeah and he was my brother.

Seriously, what's worse than having your brother crush on your best friend?

"It's all over school! Not one girl doesn’t know him!" Victoria said, settling at our lunch table. She was talking about some new guy that joined our school; he supposedly looks like an 'angel that fell out of heaven with his wings plucked off'. Yeah, the people in our school are weird. They think my brother is a hottie. What more proof is needed?

"I wonder what he looks like..." Vicky said playing with her food. It wasn't because the school serves terrible food, but because she was on this special diet where she eats like only an apple for breakfast, lunch and dinner... or something like that.

"I'm sure he's just some normal guy with normal loo-" I stopped short, because that's when I saw him.
