It had been 2 years since Betty and Archie had last seen each other Archie loved being in the army to him there was no greater honour but damm did he miss Betty.

Jackson: So let me get this straight you weren't with Betty you were with Veronica

Archie: correct

Jackson: because compared to how much you talk about Betty it's like Veronica never existed

Archie: well obviously I loved Veronica but Betty's my best friend by default we will always have a stronger connection then any girl I date I mean we've known each other almost our whole lives nothing's beating that Jackson

Jackson: well maybe you just haven't met the right girl or maybe Betty is the right girl

Archie: to be honest I thought that at one point or another to but by the time my dumb ass realised I liked her I was to late she had moved on

Jackson: didn't she kiss you at the end of high school? I'm no expert but that doesn't sound like she moved on

Archie: in her eyes what we did was a mistake it sucks but it must have meant more to me then it did to her.

Betty was now 2 years into college and was hanging out with her roommate Monica

Monica: So did you ever tell this guy you cheated on him?

Betty: No I always wanted to though I mean I don't regret what I did but we were together 4 years I think he deserved to know

Monica: Damm Betty you were with this guy for 4 years and you don't regret playing him that's kinda cold

Betty: Don't get me wrong I loved Jughead but I never felt that I could fully give myself to him because deep down I knew that a part of me would always belong to Archie.

Monica: Well if you liked this Archie guy so much why didn't you just go out with him?

Betty: Just because I felt that way about him doesn't mean he felt the same. I mean I know he loved me just not in That way I was always his second choice I would never even come close to Veronica.

Monica: didn't he literally kiss you and write you a song at the end of senior year? That doesn't sound like something a guy would do if you were his second choice.

Betty: Yeah a song that I'm pretty sure wasn't even for me he just said it was. Look can we just stop talking about this now it's dumb high school stuff I just wanna forget about it and move on.

For the next few days all Betty could think about was how much she wanted to forget and move on from all this stupid high school drama it had been 2 years it shouldn't still bother her as much as it does.

Monica: I'm telling you Betty if you really wanna move on from all this high school stuff you need to tell Jughead

Betty: no can do me and Archie made a promise that-

Monica: will you stop with this stupid promise by keeping it your only holding on to high school I thought you wanted to move on?

Betty: I do but-

Monica: well then you have to tell him

Betty: I hate to admit it but your right I'll text him to see if he can meet up

To Jughead:
Hey I know we haven't spoken in a while but do you think we could meet up? it's important

To Betty:
Sure everything ok?

To Jughead:
Yeah everything's fine just need to get something of my chest

To Betty:
Alright well where do you wanna meet?

To Jughead:
You know that small pizza place in New York? "Auntie Lia's"

To Betty:
I'm in New York rn so that sounds good

To Jughead:
Ok cool 5 pm tomorrow?

To Betty:
Sounds good

It was now 5pm the next day and Betty was waiting at the pizza place for Jughead to arrive. she was kinda nervous I mean she had no idea how he was going to react sad? Angry? Maybe he wouldn't even care. Her thought's were stopped though when she saw jughead walking towards the door.

Betty: Hey

Jughead: Hey Betty what's up?

Betty: there's no point in me trying to beat around the bush it's been long enough you deserve to know. So I'm just gonna come out and say it.

Jughead: Say what Betty are you Alright?

Betty: I'm fine Jughead I just need to tell you something something I probably should have told you years ago. Near the end of high school during Hedwig me and Archie kissed

There was a silence between the two for a good few seconds before Jughead finally spoke

Jughead: Wow Betty I mean I can't say I'm not hurt But I Can't say I'm surprised either.

Betty: What do you mean?

Jughead: Well I would have never admitted it back then but I saw the way you looked at Archie. when you told me I was the only man for you and you didn't feel anything for Archie even though I wanted to believe you I never could.

Betty: Jug you know I loved you right?

Jughead: I know Betty Just not as much as Archie

Betty didn't know what to say I mean what do you say to that? Jughead broke the silence between them through speaking again.

Jughead: Well I've got a book to finish so I better be going

Betty: Good Luck with it Jug

Later that night- 9pm

Monica: so how did it go?

Betty: well I can't say it wasn't awkward but I'm glad I did it he deserved to know

Monica: that's phase one of the plan complete

Betty: The plan?

Monica: The plan for you to tie up any lose ends from high school and move on that's what you want right?

Betty: Yeah I need to move on I can't be stuck on old high school drama forever so what's phase two?

Monica: You have to talk to Archie you have to tell him how you truly feel or felt. You have to talk to him about the song just anything you've always wanted to say to him but never could.

Betty: What?! I can't do that Archie's in the Army do you really think he has time to go for pizza and sort out mess from high school?

Monica: Well send him a text even if he doesn't have time to see it at least you would have got things of your chest.

Betty: No Monica this is not the sort of thing you do over text. I don't need or even want to talk to Archie I'll move on just fine

Monica: Betty you know that's not true for the two years I've known you all I've ever heard is how much you want to tell Archie the truth about everything

Betty then made some excuse about being to tired to talk about this anymore and went to bed. But the truth was she wanted to talk to Archie more then anything in the world. But she just had so much to say she was angry and hurt about the song and always being his second choice. But she loved and missed him like mad
