I had been living with Rue since as long as i could remember. My biological mum didn't have the money to raise me and my dad had left as soon as he found out she was pregnant so she decided to give me to her sister Leslie. Leslie had brought me up and raised me as if i was her own. Apparently when I was younger, my mum would always visit us but I don't remember her ever seeing me so I guess we had just lost contact with her when i was young. Yes I know my family life wasn't perfect but I had Rue, Gina and Leslie and that's all I need.

I sat there on my bed with my headphones in listening to music when I heard a faint knock at my door. ''Come in,'' I said whilst taking my headphones off.

The door slowly opened to show Rue standing there,''I'm going to the shop quick if you need anything.''

''Yeah sure, but can I come with you?'' I asked, I was bored and wanted to get out of the house for a little bit.

She hesitated before replying,''If you want.''

I smiled at her before putting my shoes on and following her out the door. It was only a quick walk to the store, I always had to walk past there to get to school but hadn't really been in before.

Once we had gotten there I saw a redhead guy with a buzzcut and beard sitting outside, I immediately recognised him because I had seen Rue talking to him a lot before and knew that he was a drug dealer since my friend had brought from him before whilst I was with her. Rue started to walk towards him with me trailing along behind.

''Wassup Rue,'' he greeted.

''Hey Fez,'' she replied, ''this is my cousin y/n.''

''Hey, I've heard a lot bout you before.''

'Hey,'' I smiled not sure what he meany by that.

From inside the shop I saw a boy around my age sitting on a stool with a buzzcut similar to Fezco's, I had seen him around school a couple times since he was in some of my classes and to be honest he was quite cute.

''Do you wanna go inside and talk to Ashtray instead of just standing there looking bored?'' asked Rue.

I looked back towards the boy in the store and shrugged my shoulders. It was better than doing nothing and just standing there so i made my way into the building.

''What do you want girl?'' he asked looking down to the table of drugs in front of him.

''I'm not in here for any of that.''

''Then why're you here?''

''Don't really know to be honest I got sent in here by my sister n Fez to talk to you.''

''Why're saying it like its a bad thing?'' he smirked.

I scoffed and rolled my eyes at him. We the began to talk for a little bit. He seemed like quite a nice guy, he was really funny and we got along well, he could be a bit cocky and flirty at times but I didn't mind, I quite liked it.

''Hey girl, you going to McKay's party?'' he questioned.

''Yeah probably.''
