I passed out before I could say more. I felt safe again.
"Chiee wake up, wake up Chiee" I felt someone shaking me, it hurt to open my eyes. "I tried to get there as fast as I could." He was on the edge of the bed, I wonder if he felt guilty. I crawled across the bed and sat on his lap sideways. "I'm gonna rest here for a bit." I didn't want to talk, just wanted to sleep.
I felt a blanket cover me. Warmth, and security. Then the next day came. It was the exact same but Kai drove me to work instead.
