Carter's POV

It was a quiet Saturday afternoon and I had nothing to do. I really wanted to get out of my apartment and do something other than watch the same show over and over again. Everyone in my group chat is doing something today so I decided to text my new companion. 'Hey do you wanna do something with me today?' He took a few minutes to respond. 'Sure, what'd you have in mind?' 'Plant shopping:)' 'Sounds awesome' We agreed to meet at the Capps in a little bit outside of town.

I only had to wait a few minutes before I saw Joe's car pull in. He got out and stood awkwardly. "So are you ready for the best shopping experience ever?" He laughed, "I wouldn't go that far but I could use a few plants around the place." "Lame."

We walked in the garden room and I felt safe. No one else was in there except for us. I had two comforting things with me. Joe and plants. Well Joe was comforting for the small amount of time that I knew him. I walked around looking for some plants to spice up my living room while Joe followed me like a lost puppy. "So, why'd you ask me of all people to go plant shopping with you," he asked. "All of my girls were doing stuff today and I didn't want to be alone today so I figured I would ask you." "Oh well I'm glad you did. I have to say this is an interesting place to hang out but it's cool." We walked around in comfortable silence until i asked, "Who are you?" "What?" "That came out wrong, I mean what are you like. Who are you without media and publicity?" He immediately responded with "Well I think i'm pretty cool I guess" "Well yeah I gathered that but what specifically?" "What do you wanna know? Anything you wanna hear, I'll tell you." I smiled. What he said is something you don't normally hear from people. "For starters, what's something you like to do other than football?" He took a minute to think. "Now that you say it, I haven't really done anything in awhile except football, but other than that I just watch Breaking Bad and if I'm up for it, I like to drive around in the middle of the night."  "That sounds really nice. Next time you feel like it, wake me up and take me with you." He gave me a small smile, " Of course."

After we had gotten a few plants and playfully argued over a pot the mist started. It seemed as though it was on its highest setting. Joe looked at me with mischievous eyes. He put his stuff down, held out his hand and asked, "May I have this dance m'lady." I started laughing, "Real classy." "Dance or not?" I put my stuff down, "Why yes, of course." I put my left hand on his shoulder and my right in his. We started swaying and moving around the garden. It didn't feel real. We rarely broke eye contact and whenever we'd get to the end of an aisle, he take one hand, spin me and then dip me like on dancing with the stars. This felt like it had lasted hours but in reality only four or five minutes. He stopped and we locked eyes for what seemed like forever. We started to slowly move toward each other. It didn't seem like either of us had noticed. We were too focused on each others eyes. His were a deep yet light ocean blue. His pupils were dilated. Suddenly the mist stopped. "You're an awful dancer," He grinned. "Are you kidding me? I did great, you're the one who was basically running down the aisles." We both laughed and grabbed out things to go pay. The cashier looked a little confused when we walked up to the register with wet hair and clothes. While walking out to our cars, Joe stopped me. "Do you want to drive around tonight?" I smiled at him. "Of course."

I know this was short but I thought it was a cute idea.
