The next morning when Olivia went to pick Nora up, she told her what had happened and now there they were in her car. "Nolan, though, out of anyone on earth, it was him?"

Olivia nods. "That's crazy balls shit." Olivia snorts at her friend and shakes her head. That morning it felt like a clean slate, it felt easy, smooth, fresh, new, and amazing. Like her life was turning to a blank page without issues or sadness. Things seemed to be getting better.

"I know, and tonight I have to meet his mom." Nora looks at her with wide eyes.

"No way." Olivia nods. "Tell me how it goes, you had me worried sick last night."

"Yeah sorry about that, I left my phone in my car." Nora waves her off as to say it's fine I'm over it.

Olivia drove into the school parking lot and parked her car. The parking lot was crowded as always, but this time it didn't bother her as it usually does. They leave her car and walk towards the school doors.

"You know, I'm so happy for you," Nora says to Olivia now. She looks over at her and smiles. "It sucked seeing you sad all day, today you look like you're glowing."

Olivia gave her a flat expression. Before she can say anything to her friend, she spots Nolan and his friends by the doors and finds herself smiling. "Just look at you, it's a miracle."

Olivia looks at her now. "Dude, I might have to agree." Nora bumps her shoulder with hers.

When they approach Nolan, he looks over and catches her eye. He smirks and pulls himself off the railing of the school steps to walk over to her. Nora steps between them making him stop in his track.

"If you're going to date my best friend, you need to answer one simple question, and let me just warn you, you're answer matters a whole deal."

Nolan smirks and crosses his arms. "Try me."

Nora gets serious, Olivia looks at the scene before her with a smile, ready to hear his answer.

"Are you a cat or dog person?" Olivia snorts, and Nolan cracks up putting his fist to his lips. Nora tries not to laugh and stares him down.

"Um, well I have a dog named loop, so I'll say dog." Nora nods steps aside and looks over at Olivia, Nolan looks between them.

"All right, Olivia, what do you think of his answer?" Olivia smiles and looks up at Nolan.

She spots his cheeks get scarlet, did he think they were being serious? In reality, they were just messing with him. "Well, I like both, and seeing as you have a dog, makes me like you even more." He grins at her and uncrosses his arms to stick his hands in his pockets.

"Look at that, you won over the girl, congratulations," Nora says. Before she walks away from them she pats Nolan, "Treat her right or you'll have me to deal with." She doesn't wait for his reply—maybe she didn't need one—and walks away.

Olivia waves her words away, "Don't worry about her, the worst she can do is pour a drink of tequila over your head and call you an asshole."

Nolan steps closer to her and wraps his arms around her waist. He looks down at her with a smirk, she wraps her arms around his neck.

"This is going to take a lot to get used to," Olivia says looking into his eyes that warm her up, and she remembers how last night he looked like a bear, and still did.

"Then we can get used to it together."

She tilts her head. "I'll be looking forward to it."

He glances down at her lips, and she at his. She never imagined that her first kiss would be with the guy she convinced herself she hated. But here she was, leaning closer and pressing her lips on his.

Turns out some people are just meant to be in the same story.
