I wish I had a magic wand,
To make it all better.
I wish I could erase your pain,
Letter by letter.
I could wave it around,
Make it okay,
And nothing and no one
Would stand in my way.
The hurting would stop,
All worldwide,
But especially yours,
Because you're mine.
You're my companion,
You're my friend.
And I wish with a snap of my fingers,
All bad would end.
Unfortunately, though,
All I can do,
Is give you a hug,
And say I love you.
(I suppose
That works too.)
