It was 5 p.m in the evening. Exhausted by how her day went, Radhika sat in the coffee shop as she scrolled through the chat of Surya.
It was a match set by her mother despite Radhika disagreeing to it.
As usual a new photo was kept on the table in morning, whose pieces flew into the dustbin without even a glance at it.
'How can I tell him that I am not interested in any of this right now?' Radhika thought holding her phone. She didn't even go to meet him when ask her out at this time.
After giving a stressful thinking session, Radhika typed sorry, hit the send button and deleted the chat immediately.
Who ever the guy was, will start hating her for the attitude.
She thought and smiled to herself leaning back on her chair, much relaxed as a sense of relief washed over her.
It was very hard for her to explain the people what she wanted in her life. And her heart failed to compromise to their expectations.
"Bhaiyya" She called out the waiter ignoring his call maybe he saw the message.
"One coffee" she said as she opened her journal, where she wrote the list of books she wanted to read.
Her next destination after the coffee shop was the library, her most favourite place.
"Ma'am, here's your order." The waiter said placing the coffee mug and the chocolate ice cream on her table.
"I haven't ordered this." She said to him.
"Sorry ma'am, we have been asked to give you this." The waiter replied and went to see his other customers.
"Hmm... this is my favourite." Radhika uttered gazing at the icecream. But who might have ordered it?" she wondered as her hands immediately took the spoon and had a bite, ignoring them.
Radhika was a very outspoken person. She had a lot of friends back then but none of them remembered her, nor her likes and dislikes.
As years rolled, her life kept changing and so did she from an extrovert to an introvert.
After relishing the icecream gifted by an anonymous person, Radhika decided to head towards the library to continue reading her suspense crime fiction.
It was almost 9 p.m. in the night by the time she returned home that day.
"Is this the time a girl should return home when her shift is only until 5 p.m?" Her mother Swetha question her standing at the threshold.
"Maa... I was in the library." Radhika spoke in her tired and ignorant voice.
"Either office or library other than these two no one is important to you." She chided.
'He was there...' Radhika thought.
"You're becoming crazy day by day you reject the finest guys we search for you." her father added.
Radhika sighed deeply and hurried to her room shutting the door behind her.
Next day
Radhika sat in the library and flipped through the pages of the book she was reading.
It was a very intense scene, the investigation of a murder case.
John walked cautiously through the blood stained grass as he tightened his grip on the flickering torch light.
It was pitch dark and all he could hear was the trees swaying to the wind and the the owls hooting.
As he took a step forward, the twig broke making him stumble back in fear.
