It was as though my dreams had come true. I had won two plane tickets to LA. I instantly called my friend Leah and told her the news and that she should pack her bags as soon as she could. For a moment i thought she had died as from her end of the phone there was no response. Then suddenly a peircing scream came down the line.

"Oh my god your kidding me right"! I told her I was not and that she was to meet me at the airport in 2 hours.

My mum dropped me at the airport and handed me a temporary phone just in case something happened to us. I turned round with the biggest smile on my face then my mum quickly added "and try not to get locked up I dont have the money to bail you out" . I just laughed and then jogged off towards Leah who was stod waving with tears in her eyes. As soon as I got to her she hugged me and said "thank you so much are you sure you dont want any money for the plane ticket" . I told her it was fine and that friends were made to create good times and memories free of charge. She laughed and continued wipeing the tears from her eyes. We lined up to check our suitcases in and once that was done we headed done the boarding terminal. I had butterflys so bad it was making me feel ill, all i could thinnk about was possibly meeting my idol Matthew Gray Gubler. I had loved him and his work for years and I was positive if I ever had the chance to go to LA I would find him. People had doubted me but now there was hope.

As our plane was called out for boarding, me and Leah stood up, clapped our hands and did a mini gay dance ( I had no idea where it even came from) then headed to the desk. We walked down the tunnel towards the plane and I held onto Leahs arm so I could stay on my feet. She was shaking and so was I. It was a mix of nerves and happiness I think. Not only were we going abroad on our own for the first time but to the place we had always dreamt of.

We sat on our seats and made eye contact for a second. We just couldnt stop smiling, she hit me to see if it was real, we just couldnt believe it. As the plane reversed Leah and I gave out a excited squel, we were on our way and nobody could stop us now. As the plane sped up and lifted off the ground we sat back and relaxed. Although we were excited we had a seven hour flight ahead of us and we had to calm down for a while. It was dark, the moon was bright, round and peaceful as we glided across the sky. I placed my head against the side of the window and let my head judder a little it really was a dream come true. That's all I remember about the flight until I was woken up by Leah who was screaming "look Sky we are above New York". It was magical. Millions of lights and huge skyscrapers right underneath us it was like we were in heaven looking at earth from above.

As we had another two hours flying to do I fell back asleep. Only to woken yet again by Leah who was squeling like a hungry piglet. I asked her whats wrong and she said " we are above LA and Matthew could be right underneath us". I told her that it was possible and that she had to calm down otherwise she might have a heart attack, die and then never be able to meet her "idol". It shut her up straight away. I stared out the window and imagined Matthew sleeping in his bed right underneath us. It was magical and there was a high chance we would meet him as he was off work and had posted on facebook where he was going to be. I looked at Leah and we both smiled, our holiday of a lifetime had begun.

when we got to our hotel our apartment was magnificent. I had won it with the plane tickets and so it was 5* and highly luxurious. The view from our big screen like window was spectacular. Thousands of lights which stretched for miles and the only thing i could think of was Matthew and what i would do if I met him. I had rehearsed it in my head so many times but deep down I knew that it wouldnt go how I planned it anyway I was a star at messing things up. Leah stod next to me and pressed her face against the glass window. " hmmm I can just imagine it Me, you and him stod in this apartment hugging and having a barrel of laughs" Leah said. I just sniffled and smirked at her remarks then added " one can dream Leah... One can dream". Leah just rolled her eyes then ran across the room. She jumped onto her own king sized, four poster bed. She sunk straight into it and she held her arms out and closed her eyes. The smell of the fresh bedding lifted and filled that part of the air. It was like a mix of rose and lavender whatever it was sure smelt good. Within ten minutes she was asleep and I decided I should do the same. You need to look good if you are going to meet the love of your life. I whipped off my current clothes and put on my onesie. I then turned the air con on as I knew LA was hot and if we were up late I didnt want us to over heat. Then finally I clambered into my bed, laid on my back and stared into the sky full of stars that sit above me. I smiled and whispered to myself "you made it". I then turned onto my side, flicked off the lamp that was next to the bed and drifted off to sleep.

When i woke it was early. I pulled out my frindge and made it look more normal rather than it looking like i had been dragged through a hedge backwards. I once again looked out the huge window in our apartment. It was sunny and the sky was a magnificent sapphire blue, there wasnt a cloud in sight. I smiled and admired the mix of buildings and sky scrapers. There was a mix of different colours and sizes and some had more windows than others. Suddenly my back was jumped on. I was startled and fell to the floor.

" Dont do that" I screamed," I could of hurt myself or worse had a panic attack". Leah backed away and gave me the puppy eyes. I apologized straight away and explained that she had startled me quite badly. Leah than also apologized and then gave me a hug. Then we both just stod and stared out the window once again.

After 10 minutes of admiring the view we decided to get ready. I got a quick shower and then dried my hair. I brushed it thouroughly then curled the ends of my hair so it fell upon my shoulders in little ringlets. I brushed my teeth until they were white and then grabbed some mints out the drawer. I wanted fresh breathe because you never know. Then finally I put some perfume on and called room service to bring me and Leah some breakfast. By the time the food got to us Leah was also ready and excited to get out into the city. Our breakfast was full English with a choice of fruits and juices to go with it. We ate as much as we could, it was delicious. Once we had our fill we made our way down to the hotel reception.

"Recommend anywhere for us to go on our first day" I asked the receptionist. She replied " how about the art museum". Leah nodded " yes Matthew has some of his work there I need to see it". I rolled my eyes and grabbed Leah " The art museum it is then" then we strolled off to get a taxi. Day 1 was to hopefully be a success.
