"As the wind blew warm on the sea beds, just over the horizon was a child, a child of bad behaviour. A land of misfits and wonders left Alice out of wonderland. The trees of brown and green and light grew tall and fought of the vicious night, try if you may but there's no way in or any way out." I whispered the ending of my story in the classroom, nobody heard the last words; but that's how I wanted it.
I sat in my seat and said nothing for the rest of the class, leaving everyone to talk amungst themselves. I hardly noticed the bell until Debbie asked if I wanted to hang out with her. I grabbed my bag and we headed out the gates, down a few streets until we hit the mall. I stomped out my cigarette and followed her in. This was not my kind of scene, the social gatherings and standards that you had to live up to.
But it felt okay, sitting by the big glass window to see the life of shoppers going by, we spoke of little but love, then she posed the question.
"So, do you like, like Carl?" I stared at her, like like is not something I do, "I dunno, he's cool and all but all he wants to do is fuck, which is kind of boring these days." I shrugged. She nodded and finished her coffee. I walked along side her while she looked at clothes, selecting few items for me to pocket for later.
When we finished at the mall we headed to the Gallagher household.
