"Hey, Jennie?"

"Hi Lisa!"

"You know my name?"

"Of course!" Jennie affirmed as she flashed Lisa a gummy smile.

"Oh. Cool," Lisa answered nervously.

Jennie smiled wider at her, waiting for Lisa to speak as she bounced on the balls of her feet.

"Um, yeah, anyway. I just wanted to say congratulations on graduating and I wanted to give you this." She handed Jennie a thin leather bound book.

Jennie started to open it curiously before Lisa stopped her hand.

"Wait. Don't open it yet. Please. Just open it sometime you get a chance to be alone."

Jennie looked up at Lisa questioningly but before she could say anything the younger girl flashed her a radiant smile and said "I hope you like it, bye Jennie,"and ran away with such speed that Jennie wasn't able to follow her through the crowd of graduates.

Jennie skipped all the graduation parties right along with Jisoo, both preferring to go home. Jisoo had bought a new game she had been obsessed with and Jennie was so curious about the gift Lisa Manoban had given her that she couldn't wait. They drove home right after the graduation ceremony. They hadn't even bothered to take any pictures with their friends.

Jennie started reading.

June

Hey Jennie,

School has been out for the summer so I haven't had the pleasure of seeing you. I know you don't know me but I know you. That sounds kind of creepy. I don't mean it like that it's just, you're really pretty and really nice and when I first moved here and I was a freshman you gave me directions and even walked me to class once and I wasn't late so, yeah thanks.

Hey Jennie,

I saw you at the mall today with your cousin Jisoo. I was there with my friend Rosie. She has a huge crush on your cousin so when we saw you guys leaving the Chanel store she squealed. Literally squealed, and then she dragged me to the food court because the stress of seeing her crush made her hungry apparently. You looked very pretty. I think Chanel should pay you to wear their clothes instead of the other way around.

Hey Jennie,

I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty excited about going back to school today. Which is funny because I kind of hate school. My mom thought I had a fever when I told her over the phone. She doesn't know that I'm kind of really excited to get to see you everyday, even if we don't talk.

So obviously I wrote that this morning and now it's after school and I'm writing this. I panicked a little bit because I didn't see you in the halls in the morning. I thought you might have transferred. Then I finally saw you at lunch and wow, I think my heart stopped beating for a second. I should probably just go ahead and tell you, I have a huge crush on you. This is your last year and initially I just started writing you to get my feelings out but now I kind of want to give this to you so you can read it if you're ever feeling down because at least one person out there thinks you're pretty perfect.
