Still sober. Titus had been there for hours, the staff seemed to feel bad because they kept bringing him drinks. On the outside of the building, it looked so happy. The sign read "The Bar", a lot of thought went into that. The building was wooden and it looked like a cabin. It was dark, so you couldn't see the daisies that swayed in the cool wind. Once you opened the wooden door, with the beer shaped handle, you could see what this bar was for. The women, some of them scantily dressed with older men standing near by, the younger, sort of attractive men standing by their mates hoping to get lucky, and Titus, who wasn't any of those groups. He was part of the group that came to "The Bar" after a horribly long, and brutal day. His girlfriend, Jenny, had kicked him out of the house for good this time. So he should say his ex-girlfriend. He had been gone all the time because he was a truck driver for the company UPS. Jenny had complained before that he needed to be home more often, he never thought that she would make him leave.
"Another," he stated, beginning to feel a little buzzed. The bar tender looked at him with a little bit of sadness in his eyes and gave him another shot of whiskey. He began to feel hopeless, and that he knew he should be calling people for a place to stay. His shot came and he threw it back. He put the cup down and took out his phone. Titus had gotten the realtor.com app because he wanted to buy a house with Jenny. He started looking for apartments with 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom. He realized it would take a while to actually get to the point of renting, so he googled "cheap hotels in my area". He came up with a Motel 6 just down the road. He decided to make his way to the bathroom to call.
"Hello, this is the Motel 6, Armani speaking, how may I help you?" She spoke very enthusiastically.
"I just needa room for tonight, if that's possible." He replied hoping for a room.
"Yes sir, we have a suite and a regular room available, which would you prefer?"
"Just the regular room."
"Okay sir, what's the name?"
"Titus Bates"
"Alright, thanks. Just have your card or cash ready to go when you get here please?" she stated and hung up the phone.
Titus slid the phone in his pocket and took another shot.
The bartender looked at him "It's closing time."
"What's the total?"
"Twenty-four dollars and sixty-seven cents."
Titus pulled out his wallet and fished out a twenty and a ten dollar bill, "keep the change." He threw the money on the table and stumbled out of the bar and to his silver Jetta. He didn't bother to put on his seatbelt because he was just going down the road. He started the car and drove to the Motel 6's address.
