Laney POV

"Laney, Laney" I heard a voice shout. I shot up out of bed to see my little brother waving a letter in my face. I blinked a few times as I adjusted to the light. I sat up and looked at what was in my brother's hand. My eyes widened when I saw where it was from.

Hogwarts

"No way," I said as I snatched it from his hand. I've been waiting for this letter for so long. I used to go to a different wizarding school, but I got kicked out for dangerous magic. I actually applied for Hogwarts nearly a year ago. I ripped open the letter and started reading.

Dear Laney,

I'm sorry you have had to wait so long but I am pleased to say we have accepted you to Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. You will start at the start of the new term. Here is a list of equipment we require you to bring.

*Potions book

*Ink

*A pet of your chose (Owl, Cat, Frog, Rat or mouse)

We have heard a lot about you and can not wait to meet you.

I let out a high-pitched scream as I jumped out of my bed. My brother stepped back and laughed as I danced around the room. They have accepted me to Hogwarts. I truly can't believe it, this really is a dream come true for me , since the day I ever found out about Hogwarts I had always wanted to go, I did apply for it when I was a first year but then we moved away for, well very complicated reason but the second we came back I applied.

I stop dancing and make my way down the stairs, I go into the kitchen to find my aunt cooking something, I jump on the spot with the letter tightly in my hand before I speak.

"Aunt," I said as she continued to cook.

"Yes, dear," she spoke

"They have accepted me to Hogwarts, "I shouted. Her eyes went wide as she turned and looked at me. She dropped everything she was doing and came running over, she pulled me in to a tight hug.

"Oh Laney, I'm so very proud of you," she said

"I really can't believe it," I say as I felt tears in my eyes.

"Oh dear, don't cry," my aunt says as she wipes under my eyes.

"I just can not believe it, I've been dreaming of going to Hogwarts since I found out about it," I say. My Aunt gives me a smile before pulling me in for another hug.

Suddenly, my brother comes running up to me with his arms wide open. I open my arms and pick him up in a hug. He laughs as I spin him around. I get a wave of sadness though when I realize I'm going to be away from him for months.

"Show me the letter," my aunt says. I hand it to her and she reads. Once she was done, she put it down and looked at my brother and I.

"We better get going to Diagon alley"
