Crystal woke up shivering and crying. <<not again>> she thought. That voice woke her up again. It was scaring her way too much. She felt so powerless every time it spoke. It was like a bunch of whispers saying mean words to her. They seemed to never shut up. Her mother came to her room in a bad mood and turned on the light. Crystal probably shouted again while she was sleeping.
-Crystal, you have to stop watching those horror movies! It's not the first time you wake me up with one of those shouts of yours- her mother scolded her while putting her hands on her hips and frowning.
-I'm fine mum, thanks- Crystal said as she rolled her eyes, still full of tears. She was still trying to calm down since her heart was beating as fast as a hare running.
Her mother noticed this and apologised while hugging the 16-year-old girl.
It was true that Crystal usually watched some horror movies, but the noises and screams that would seize people's dreams during nights were not a big deal compared to what she heard in her nightmares. These voices she heard were different because they were about her. People threatened her, with insulting and painful words to be honest. Also, she saw horrific shadows. Thankfully they were just nightmares..right? Crystal didn't want to bother her parents about what she was going through at school. Her classmates usually pushed her while shouting awful things at her like "hey, you ugly" or "rabbit's teeth", etc. It was painful to listen to such comments. She was not asking to be their friends, why couldn't they just leave her alone?
After a few minutes, her mum stopped hugging the girl and went to sleep after reminding her daughter that she could talk to her whenever she felt sad or mad about anything.
Crystal sighed and thought <<ah mum... I tried to tell you thousand times...but you're always so busy... and I would be so weak if I told you. I must be strong. It is better to fight this nightmares on my own>>
How wrong she was.
This wasn't a fight she could handle on her own.... but she was committing the same mistake that most bullied people do. Shutting her mouth instead of spitting it out with someone she trusted...And that was the problem. She did not trust ANYONE. Not even herself.
Suddenly she heard it again, but this time she was awake...
It couldn't be. Was she going insane?<No please, just stop> she thought while tears were falling down her cheeks again, soaking her pillow. The voice was always in her nightmares... how was this possible?! When was this going to end?
Little did she know that it was going to get worse.
To be continued...
