She'll never understand why it took you this long to notice,

A tear slipped down her face as you stared at her scars,
The scars you never noticed cause you were to busy living while she was slowly dying.

So many days and nights you let slip by,
That you didn't notice her pain.
All those times another scar took its place,
You carried on like everything was fine,
Like you didn't notice.

But you knew there was something wrong,
You were just to selfish to care,
You saw how she seemed so tired and worn,
How her smile slowly disappeared,
The life in her eyes gone,
Now glazed over,
Dark and dull.

You saw she was changing,
But you let it slip by,
You were careless and dumb,
And she stopped caring as well.

The scars increased,
She thought know one cared,
And all because you were to clueless to notice,
To do something.

And now you stand there staring at her pain physically shown,
Counting the scars one by one,
Losing count and staring over.

She rips her arm away from you,
As she turns to leave,
"I'm sorry you never gave a damn." she whispered as she walked off,
"But I guess now,

Neither do I."
