It was a normal night at the Avengers Compound. We all agreed to watch a movie but we couldn't decide which one to watch.
"Can someone please just pick something!" Nat groaned.
"Please!" I agreed
"Alright, alright. How about we watch Titanic." Bruce said
"YES MY FAVORITE-" Thor said.
"Really again?!" Everyone else groaned.
"Its better than waiting around all night trying to decide!" Clint said.
"Clint's right lets just watch it." Steve said.
I wasn't really paying much attention to the movie. We have watched it a million times so I didn't really feel like watching it. I looked over to Tony. He was awfully quiet these past few days and I can't really figure out why. He just seems really bummed out for no apparent reason. Well actually, there was a reason, I think. A week or two ago Pepper left. I don't know the full details all I know is that Tony has been badly hurt by it.
I never liked Pepper. I always had a crush on Tony so you can understand my point of view. I never told him my feelings because I didn't want to mess up him and Pepper. It sucked to see him with her, but he was happy so I was happy. I never thought she would just leave him like that.
I will talk to him later. I thought to myself.
TIME SKIP - BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE REAL SLIM SHADY
The movie was over and everyone was beginning to go to bed. I couldn't help but notice Tony left a couple minutes before the end of the movie. He was acting really weird. I walked over to his room and knocked.
"Who is it" I heard Tony say, his voice was quiet, nothing like the snarky guy I know.
"It's y/n, can I come in?"
"Come in." Tony quietly said.
He was sitting on the edge of his bed with his back turned to you.
"Tony, are you okay, you've been acting kind of strange recently." I said as I sat down next to him.
He wouldn't face me.
"Tony, look at me." I said sternly but gentle.
Only when he met my eyes I saw they were filled with tears.
"Tony, talk to me please."
"What's there to talk about? She left me, y/n." His voice cracked a bit.
I put my hand on his shoulder and gave it a squeeze. I felt him lean into the touch, and my heart broke a little.
"Tony, its going to be alright."
"I don't know what to do y/n, I loved her." Tony said, his voice was really starting to break.
"Can I hug you Tony?"
Tony numbly nodded, visibly breaking.
I leaned over to him and wrapped my arms around him, Tony tensed for a second before he gave in and let himself be held. I heard Tony's muffled whimper as I tightened my grip. Tony clung to me as if his life depended on it, tears streamed down his face leaving a wet spot on my shirt.
"It's gonna be okay Tony." I whispered to him.
We stayed like that for awhile, Tony slumped in my arms as I slightly rocked him side to side, it seemed to calm him a little. His grip was still fairly tight. I held him until he was ready to let go.
Tony barley even talked to us after Pepper. Let alone gotten a hug, or any touch for the most part. It would be more than reasonable to say he was touch-starved.
Tony eventually loosened his grip to look at me, his eyes were red and glossy and his cheeks were stained with tears. His hair was disheveled and his expression was the most broken thing I've ever seen.
I cupped his cheek and wiped some of his tears. I was caught by surprise by Tony pressing his lips against mine. It was a short and meaningful kiss. Tony broke the kiss and looked at me with a small smile.
"You should really get some sleep Tony." I said, as I began to get up.
"No, please don't leave, stay." he begged.
"You need sleep, Tony."
"I promise I'll sleep, just please stay, I need you."
I gave in and laid in bed with him. I wrapped my arms around his waist and held him tight.
"Goodnight y/n." Tony said.
"Goodnight Tony."
Eventually I felt his breathing even and I assumed he had fallen asleep.
"I love you." I smiled as I whispered in Tony's ear, right before I fell asleep.
Little did I know Tony was turned the other way, smiling to himself, before he truly went to bed.
