We All Have Secrets
Got a secret
Can you keep it?
Swear this one you'll save
Better lock it in your pocket
Taking this one to the grave
If I show you then I know you won't tell what I said
'Cause two can keep a secret if one of them is dead
Why do you smile like you've been told a secret?
Now you're telling lies 'cause you have sworn to keep it
But no one keeps a secret
No one keeps a secret
Cameron Burger, top notch thief and best pick pocket at our school, which was pretty amazing considering only those who have had more than a few run ins with the cops went to this part of the school but he was from the other part. My half of the school was cheap and gave its students a place to stay, but it was rich from what it cost the rich kids who went to the other half, supported by wealthy parents who wanted to punish their kids without it being too obvious to the rest of the world. Here under the safety and protection of the school and a few well trained cops each rich snot nosed brat had to help out and work with "fixing" one of us delinquents. Cam, who had been caught doing drugs by a maid, was sent here by his parents. A silent threat, showing him what would happen to him if he kept up his delinquent life style.
The whole school, rich and poor, knew his story. It was everywhere; in the newspaper, on the bulletin board, and always in the rumors that traveled around. He would come around and tell his new objectives what he had done and brag about it. He never helps them, just teaches them new tricks in exchange for tips from them. Half of his partners have been locked away in prison for a few years because he took them out to practice their skills on. But Cameron can't get into trouble; no he's like a freaking god in the eyes of the teachers and the police who all are retarded enough to believe that he's only there to try to talk them out of it.
His parents know different, though, and both cut off his allowance, which is why he got so good at stealing, and called the school to set him up with the riskiest and least trusted/known about student in the facility, me. No one knows anything about me, they don’t have to. If they did, I would have never got to go to school. They could never know anything about me because Winterlynn Maddox doesn't exist anymore. Instead I went by Harley Finclemire who had just come to be two months ago in the world's records. Not that Saint Larry High School knew that, not that they would ever care to know. The employees were only here for a large pay check and to feel good about themselves by believing that they were helping the youths of our world out.
Yeah, because making me spend time "recovering" with Cam the Pick Pocket is going to help me, I thought with a huff. I was making my way to his dorm room, or, I guess, our living area. Whoever you're matched up with is your new buddy. You go to classes together, live together with rooms right next to each other, and only get a real break at meals and holidays. It was like we were the newest pet for these rich brats. Sure, I had money, a lot, but it was all mine, made by a job I wasn't proud of. One I would still be doing, traveling the world for, if it wasn't for this new world peace treaty. I snorted again. Like this treat would actually last, everywhere was just stalking up on new weapons, trying to be secretive about it, so that once everywhere else had calmed down and fell into a false sense of security they could strike and gain control over the whole world. When those wars started breaking out, that would be when I was needed again. These teenagers, ones who took pride on the brands they wore and what they looked like lived off of their parents pay check to keep their popularity would be the first to fall when the next war, World War III, broke out, and I couldn't wait.
