Wolfgang

Dammit! What the fuck is wrong with me?

I had come here on a mission: to reject her and get on with my life.

But I couldn't utter the fucking words.

I kept rambling on, about her being a liability, and worthless to me and the pack as my mate, but still I could not reject her.

She stood there before me, trembling and crying as she listened to my reason for not wanting her.

I felt the urge to take her into my embrace and never let go of her.

But I couldn't do that. I could not risk this pack's safety just because of her.

"Quit the fucking yapping, kid! You're breaking her heart! " Cronos shouted in my head.

I looked into her eyes. Those huge gray eyes that showed every emotion within her. I was afraid her petite form might collapse at any minute.

"I...I understand, " she finally said. She looked down at her feet as her hands played with the bag she held, still visibly trembling.

It's now or never. Reject her and get over it.

"I-" I began, but was cut off as a strange girl with red hair and long limbs walked through the living room and ran up to Aurora, cradling her in her long arms.

"Rory, are you alright?" she asked her and held her shaking shoulders as the young girl cried.

"Emma!"Aurora cried, still holding back her sobs.

At the moment, my gamma and Mrs. Kala came back from the kitchen, along with Mrs. Craton, who immediately went to Aurora 's side.

Their faces all held sympathy for the girl who shook as she began sobbing into the other girl's arms.

"Alpha, you shouldn't have been so harsh with her,"Remus chastised me. "She clearly took the garment by accident. She was distraught because some bastard hurt her feelings last night. I'm sure she won't do it again."

If he only knew that the bastard was me.

"Is this the uniform, sweetheart?" Kala asked, pointing to the bag Aurora held. She only nodded her head.

"I'll take it with me then, dearie." Kala took the bag from Aurora 's hand and smiled at me.

"See? No harm done. The uniform is back in our possession," she said as she walked back over to where I stood.

I tried my best to keep my expression as stoic as ever. Aurora still refused to look back up at me.

I sucked on my teeth and turned toward the door. "We're leaving."

I walked out the house, still hearing her sobs.

Cronos started lecturing me about hurting her again, but all that kept running through my mind was how fucking weak I was.

And how I still hadn't rejected her.

Aurora

As soon as Montana closed the door,I ran up the stairs and into my room, locking the door behind me. I didn't want to listen to any of her questions, or Emma's.

What would I say? I couldn't tell her why I was so upset.

It wasn't because they'd called me a thief. It was because now I knew for sure that Alpha Wolfgang didn't want me.
