Cold. That's how you felt, nothing but cold air whipping past you and assaulting your neck. How long had you been like this? You couldn't remember, all that was felt was the cold.

And then it happened, you heard it. The thumping of feet heading in your direction. You sighed, was this it? And if it was...if you were being honest, you were ready to accept your fate. Slowly your eyes opened, the midday sun causing you to blink back a bit before falling opening.

That's when you see it, a titan headed straight for you. It's arms swung back and forth as it picked up speed. This really is it? Huh, you close your eyes once more before the stomping got closer. And then it stopped, but not too long after a thud was heard.

You were confused, is this what death felt like?

"Oi, are you alright?" Came a gruff voice. You opened your eyes, the first thing you saw was a man in front of you. He was dressed funny, you thought, and his hair was short. His face was cold, unwavering. It sent chills down your spine.

"Huh? You can't speak or something? Tsk." He looked away, his face almost looked….annoyed?

"A-Ah...I'm...fine, but what about the-" before you could finish you looked behind him. The titan that was coming towards you now laid dead on the ground. Did he…?

"About the what?" He spoke again, an eyebrow raised as if saying hurry up and answer. He has other places to be.

All you could do was point at the form behind him. "Ah? The titan? What about it?" You shook your head, you'll have to save your disbelief, for now.

"Can you stand?" His face turned back to you, still wearing the same expression. You nodded and tried, instantly falling. You heard a heavy sigh come from the man before you were hoisted up.

"Ah! W-What are you-" before you could finish he held a finger to your lips. "Shut up, unless you want to call another one." His tone said, speak again and I'll just leave you here to fend for yourself. So you immediately shut up and nodded, that seemed to appease him for now.

You wanted to ask his name, so that you could thank him properly. But you weren't allowed to speak, not to mention your head was starting to get fuzzy. The world was spinning and soon your vision was blurred, eyes closing as you heard a few words before you were out. "Oi, oi, oi, oi, don't die on me. Shit." And that was the last thing you heard.

You didn't know how long you'd been out but you weren't in the forest anymore. You were somewhere...more comfortable. A bed? But how…

Slowly you sat up, a sharp pain now spreading out amongst your skull. "Gah…"

"Good, you're awake." You jumped as the person in the corner, that you didn't notice till now, spoke. "You're lucky Levi found you when he did."

Levi? So that's his name. You made sure to keep a mental note of that so that you could thank him the next time you saw him. "Where am I?"

The person tilted their head, confused by your words. "You don't know where you are? Interesting..."

"Um...where's Levi? I'd like to thank him for well...saving me." They chuckled at this, placing their notepad back in its holder. "He's right outside, I'll get him." You could swore you heard them mumble to themselves. Something about, this'll be fun but you couldn't quite hear.

You could hear faint voices out in the hallway, sounded kind of like an argument but you weren't sure. So you placed your folded hands on your lap as you waited. Taking this chance to look around the room. Wasn't anything too fancy but anything was better than outside.

Next thing you knew the door was opening, they walked in first and then the guy-Levi walked in after. His face the same as when he saved you but now you could see his features better. He was handsome.

"So? Go on." His words were harsh, they almost made you regret calling him in here. But you fought through it, your hands fiddling with one another as you began to speak.

"I wanted...um, to thank you for...saving me.." you trailed off, eyes cast down on the bed.

"Is that all?" Your eyes widened and nodded, giving a small 'mhm.'

You heard a sigh and then boots making there way back to the door, stopping just short of it. "No problem." You heard him mumble before leaving the room. This made your head shoot up but he was already gone.

"Ohhh? I was right about this being interesting." You were confused but didn't say anything else. Soon they came over to ask questions about yourself and where you came from.

Little did you know, the man who saved you, was outside the door. A hand cluched to his chest as your words of thanks echoed through his mind. How long had it been since someone thanked him that....genuinely? He couldn't remember.
