Jade's POV:

"Thomas, give it back!!"

"It's my turn!" I yank the TV remote from his weak little hand, holding it over my head as I keep my eyes trained to the screen. He tries to reach it from me, crawling over my lap to block my view. I simply move my head to my left, keeping my outstretched arm well out of his reach.

"Tori!" The tiny turd screams for my girlfriend who takes her sweet time in the shower.

"Tori!" I scream even louder. We exchange a look, a knowing look before we dash upstairs to pound on the bathroom door. The shower turns off but she doesn't respond to either of us, probably because neither of us are making any sense.

".. but she already got to watch her stupid Ted Bundy show-"

".. and he kept annoying the shit out of me the entire time-"

The door's flying open in the middle of our elevated protests, a wave of steam gushing out with the wonderful smell of her shampoo hitting our noses. I almost forget about my entire point when I see her beautiful, glowing face, stripped from the usual light makeup she wears, holding a confused and frustrated scowl as she fixes the dropping towel on her head.

"One shower. You two couldn't let me have one shower in peace?"

"It's not my fault! She's the one who.." Thomas goes on, repeating all of his ridiculous points on why he should get the remote. And while subconsciously I realize I should be doing the same, my brain's too preoccupied to think about the TV right now.

"It's not fair! She's always-"

"Here. You can have the stupid remote," I all but shove it in his face. They both look at me surprised. Raised eyebrows of suspicion like it's an impossible feat for me to give in. So much so that now that the remote is right in front of his face, the kid doesn't fucking take it. It's only after a long, skeptical pause does he grab the remote and sprint downstairs. I figure he expected me to chase after him but something more interesting has come up.

"What was that for?" She speaks the second we hear the distant sound of the television turn on from downstairs.

"What?" I pretend like I don't know what she's talking about, blinking at her in 'confusion'.

Tori doesn't buy that shit for a second, crossing her arms over her chest with an even sexier scowl than before. "The remote. Why'd you give it up so easily?"

"It hurts that you question my niceness you know."

"Jade."

"What?"

The subtle twitch in her right eyebrow makes me think she's about to yell at me but that fire dies down all too quick. She sighs, shaking her head and muttering a weak "never mind," before walking past me towards my bedroom.

I follow after her, smiling nonetheless. That creeps her out even more it seems.

"Stop being so weird!"

"I'm sorry."

"Jade!" She whines, clearly my smile didn't reduce the weirdness to her. Stepping forward to invade her personal space, I wrap my arms around her waist and pull her close. She gasps a little, being taken by surprise, but quickly relaxes into my touch, letting her hands run along my shoulders.

"You look really good," I husk, smirking at the way the red gradually fills her cheeks. She grins shyly, letting me kiss her and returning it with a soft peck before pulling away to start blow-drying her hair. I lie back on my bed, mindlessly scrolling through my phone while waiting for her to finish.
