"Rule number one, is that you gotta have fun,

But baby when you're done, you gotta be the first to run

Rule number two, just don't get attached to,

Somebody you could lose

So le-let me tell you"

As I walked down the street, I realized it was getting chilly by the minute, and I didn't have a jacket on, just a dress. I roll my eyes at the thought of my mum's earlier request of putting on a dress for the dinner tonight. If she didn't get me mad I wouldn't be out here, freezing my ass off.

I look around at my surroundings and see rows of houses, some of their lights off, others on. I sigh and shiver, running my hands up and down my arms for warmth. What am I going to do now? Maybe I should wait it out until Tyler and his mum leaves and my mum goes to sleep... And that's what I just did.

I walked back to my house and hid behind a bush waiting for the neighbors to exit. After, about a few minutes of waiting, a loud screeching sound of sirens were heard not too far away. I ducked my head even more as I saw the bright yellow and green ambulance truck stop in front of my house. Two men in working suits hop out from the back and run to the front door of the two story house, carrying a gurney. I crinkle my eyes in confusion, asking myself, why are they here for? Then it hit me. Tyler. What I did to him. I cause this to happen to him.

As if on cue the front door busts open with one man on each side of the gurney, pulling it to the truck. Two figures come out from behind, one clutching on to the other, wailing about something incoherent, must have been my mum and Ms .Lee. They both follow the men and hop into the back of the truck, with the help of the paramedics. The door closes shut and immediately rushes down the street.

I let out a breath of relief and pop out of the bushes and quickly stride over to the front door. I looked under the mat for keys since; I didn't have mine at the moment. An easy way to get robbed, Mum, I thought rolling my eyes and push the key into the lock, turning it, hearing a click and then pushing the door open. I lock the door behind me and ran up the stairs into my room, getting ready for school tomorrow.

As I was walking to my fourth period class, a soft voice said, "Didn't know Hulk goes to this school." I turned to my left to see a girl with short black hair on one side and the other side of her head with the multicolors, pink and blue. On top of her head laid a light turquoise bow. She had dark brown eyes with heavy grey shadow, bright pink lipstick, a nose ring and rosy red cheeks. I politely smiled at her.

"What?" I asked, in confusion.

A bright smile appeared on her face, revealing her two front teeth separated from each other. "Nothing." She said.

I continued to walk to my writing class, the girl by my side. I adjusted my bag on my shoulder and glanced at the girl again, "My names Remedy." I greeted, stopping in the middle of the hallway and held out my hand.

The colorful girl giggled and muttered an 'I know' then, "My names Lilith, and it's nice to finally meet you." She gushed, shaking my hand then letting go, the both of us continuing to walk.

I crinkled my eyebrows and asked, "Finally?"

She lets out a small chuckle and I saw in the corner of my eye her, nodding, "I've seen you around school, I've just never really had the courage to come and talk to you, until now." She says, fixing her bow.

I smiled, "Why? It's not like I have a ton of friends." I snickered. We began walking up the stairs, nearing my class. I'm assuming she takes the same course.

Lilith grew quiet until, we reached the top of the stairs, she spoke up and said, "I just thought you would've been freaked out about me so, I didn't try. Besides, you seem intimidating."

I laughed, "I'm not. I promise. And would do you mean me being freaked out about you?" I questioned furrowing my eyebrows. We stood outside the class, me waiting for her answer.

"This" She said, gesturing to her attire. She wore a pastel pink cropped tee, a purple Mildred skirt, matching with a pair of black flat forms and light pink socks over her shoes. Over her shoulder was a doughnut bag.

"What about it?" I snorted. I dug into my bag for my chapstick, while waiting for her response I rolled on the lip balm, smacked my lips and dropped it back into my bag.

Lilith watched my every move, with crinkled eyebrows. "So you think what I'm wearing...isn't freaky?" She carefully asked.

"Of course, you're the first female I've seen in this school who doesn't look like everybody else. You aren't afraid to be yourself, I adore that." I said, smiling.

The corners of her mouth turned into a grin, her cheeks red. With that, I walked into my writing class and took a seat at the back, noticing Lilith wasn't following. I looked around and eventually saw her still at the door, fiddling with her bag. I gestured for her to come over where I sat, with a smile, glad that I finally made a female friend, who wasn't snobby.

"Hi, Remmy" A deep voice said in my ear. I slightly jump and turn my head to see Harry, cheekily smiling at me and then taking a sit next to me.

"Hey, Harry..." I blushed at the nickname he gave me and took a bite of my apple. This became a daily routine between Harry and I. We wouldn't see each other until lunch, where he would eat half of my food then, after lunch we would both walk hand in hand to our next class together. It was a friendly gestured, that after awhile, I began to get use to. We were only friends, and I hope he doesn't think of us as anything more just because I let him hold my hand.

"How was your day, love?" He asks softly, pushing back a stray hair of mind that was in my face. I slightly squirm at the sweet gesture and hesitantly turn to him.

"I met a friend today in fourth period." I said, taking my final bite into my apple, then Harry grabbing the apple from my grasp and also taking a bite out of it. I widen my eyes in surprise, lightly laughing. He looked up at me, smirking as he finished my apple. He winked at me and tosses the apple core into the trash bin behind me.

"So you met somebody better than me?" Harry pouts, sliding his hand into mine.

I chuckled and nodded my head, "Possibly." I mutter. He soothingly rubs my knuckles with his thumb.

"That is impossible, babe." He rasps.

A warm feeling is felt inside my stomach and electricity jolts through my fingers making me jump, causing Harry to let go of my hand. "Um...okay." I cough and turn back to my food, stuffing my face with vanilla pudding.

"You okay, Remedy?" He nervously asks, sliding his arms around my waist, giving it a light squeeze.

I quickly nod my head and squirm myself out of his grip that is protectively around my waist causing small butterflies to flutter at the bottom of my stomach. I quickly grab napkins from off my tray and wipe off the excess substance of vanilla pudding.

"Her name is Lilith." I squeak out. I began to work my way in finishing my turkey sandwich, anything for me to avoid his gaze.

"Oh, I've seen her around campus, love her hair." He responds with a hint of chagrin laced in his tone.

I nod. "I um have to go." I rushed out, standing up and speed walked to the trash bin. I rid of my trash, placing the tray to the side. I turn around and am met with dull green eyes, which were a vibrant emerald color not too long ago.

"Where are you going, Remedy?" Harry softly asks. I shrug my shoulders, gulping at the proximity of our faces.

"Um, I have to go study for a test next period..." I slowly say, hoping he would buy it.

He crinkles his eyes in confusion and says, "We don't have a test."

I widen my eyes and quickly slip past him saying, "I know" and running out of the cafeteria.
