Ivy awoke atop of Carlisle's chest.
"Shit, what time is it?" She asked frantically.
"It's only 2:00," Carlisle assured her.
"We are going to dinner with my parents at 4:30 by the way," she said snuggling back into his chest.
"Why? No," he groaned.
Ivy shot up, and looked at him almost disgusted. "What, do you not like my parents?"
"No, no, of course I do," he stammered, "it was just I had plans to make you a romantic dinner."
"Frozen dinners, while we watch One Piece?" She asked sarcastically.
"No," now Carlisle was slightly offended, "I really wanted to do something sweet for you."
"It's not like it's our last Sunday," she kissed his forehead, "I'll leave all the room in my schedule open to be wooed by Rico Suave himself, next Sunday."
"Ooh yeah baby you know how I do, I'm a heart breaker," Carlisle imitated in a really awful Spanish, maybe Australian accent.
She put her head back down on his chest. While she was asleep earlier he put on an Impractical Jokers marathon.
"Fuck, marry, kill, null, them," he inquired.
"For sure null Joe, I mean he's married and has a child, let him be happy, kill Murray, because he just seems like a douche," she paused to think, "fuck Sal because he's way too neat and germaphobic to marry, and marry Q, cause he's definitely my type, loves animals, and kind of rough around the edges."
"Am I your type enough to marry?" His face was bright red.
"Wow, um, yeah of course," she stuttered, the question threw her for a loop.
He kissed the top of her head. After two episodes they got up and started getting ready for dinner. Ivy put on a flowy, lacy, white dress and brown gladiator sandals. She twisted her hair into a side fishtail braid, put in her contacts, and did her makeup. Carlisle put on a flannel and jeans. He tried to do something with his hair, he tried to smooth it down a little bit but it just kept poofing up into a mess on the top of his head. Ivy walked into the bathroom, where Carlisle was struggling, and changed the music to Twenty One Pilots. She stood on her tiptoes to kiss him, she still had to even though she was an impressive 5'9".
"You clean up very nicely," Carlisle awkwardly complimented her.
"Thanks, same to you," Ivy smiled and then thought to herself, "I really could spend the rest of my life with him."
"You wanna drive?" He asked.
"Of course I do," she smiled, grabbed her purse and keys off the table and headed out the door. Carlisle turned off the lights she left on and headed out the door, locking it behind him. He got in the passenger seat of their dark blue Jeep Wrangler. Just as he was buckling up, she sped off.
"I mean if you want you could always slow down," he requested.
"Sure thing, granny," she retorted.
They arrived at the Salt Lick, Austin's best barbecue restaurant. Ivy's parents were already there.
"Oh lord," Ivy groaned.
"What?" Carlisle said frantically.
"You and my dad are both wearing flannels and Vans," she moaned.
"Is that a bad thing?" Carlisle started panicking, he'd hung out with Ivy's parents more than two dozen times, and they'd been nothing but amazing towards him yet he still got nervous every time.
"No, no, I'm sorry, don't worry about it, it as just an observation," she tried to comfort him.
Ivy walked up to her parents and gave them both a hug.
"Ellie, Josh," Carlisle greeted Ellie, Ivy's mom, with a hug, and Josh, her dad, with a handshake.
"Oh come on Carlisle," Josh said pulling him in for a hug.
Ivy, was spitting image of Josh, she had his smooth, elongated, nose, oval-ish face, and almond eyes. She inherited his height, and ability to tan well. Ellie, on the other hand, was short, pale, blonde hair, and had blued eyes. She had a button nose, and wide, alert eyes. She reminded Carlisle of a snow owl.
"Oh honey, why are you wearing white to a place that slathers everything in barbecue sauce?" Ellie criticized.
"Oh thanks, you look nice too," Ivy rolled her eyes and then chuckled, her mom was such a worry wart.
"Hi, my name is Cam, and I'll be your waiter tonight, can I get you something to drink?"
"I'll take a Dr. Pepper," ordered Josh.
"A Dr. Pepper for me too," Carlisle said.
"A sweet tea, please," Ivy said politely.
"A Diet Dr. Pepper," Ellie said passing in the tables drink menus.
They all ended up ordering the rib meal, endless ribs, mashed potatoes with chicken gravy, a biscuit, and coleslaw. By the end of the night, Ivy could feel the dress starting to get tighter.
"I hope you guys saved room for desert, I have macaroons waiting in the car," Josh said eagerly, he was a professional pastry chef, working for one of the fanciest eateries in town,  it's so fancy it's called an "eatery", Ivy was extremely proud of her dad.
They paid the bill and went out to Ivy's parents car. They sat in the trunk, eating macaroons and talking. Carlisle loved Ivy's parents, they were so easy to talk to, and hilarious. All of a sudden an image came into his head of Ivy walking down the isle in a white dress, with Josh escorting her to where Carlisle waited. He shook his head. "No, I'm 20 and she's 21, I want to spend the rest of my life with her but we are too young," he thought to himself.
Ivy gave him a slight kick, "you all right?"
"Yeah, yeah, sorry just tired, I don't know why, we haven't done anything all day except for eat!" He joked, but he could feel his cheeks burning.
They all got out of the trunk and hugged and said their farewells. Carlisle escorted Ivy to the car and opened the door for her. He decided to drive after the earlier stunt, where she went 50 in a 35 zone.
"So what were you thinking about back in the car?" Ivy interrogated, smiling.
"Oh nothing," he said, turning up the radio, which was currently playing the new Jack Johnson song.
