TODAY WAS THE DAY, IT WAS TODAY THAT (Y/N) WAS gonna go to her new school for the first time. She recently moved from England to Japan and was quite nervous. Japanese was her second language- since it was her mother's first language, but she grew up in England, rarely ever needing to use the language. To make sure she was well prepared, she had gotten herself a tiny English Japanese dictionary just in case.

"Bye mom, I'll see you after school" the girl said as she put on her shoes, preparing herself for her first school day. Her mom knew how stressed she was, she hadn't even had the time to unpack her stuff properly yet and the mess was making her uncomfortable.

"Bye honey, make sure to make new friends" the mother replied, not wanting her daughter to spend the school year alone. (y/n) nodded at her mom's request, grabbed her bag and opened the door, ready to leave the house. Before she could step a foot out, miss Matsuoka, her personal maid, called out for her.

"Miss (y/n)! Wait please!" the maid said as she rushed to the girl's side. She took a moment to catch her breath, before saying "You almost forgot your drawing notebook and your headphones" then held them out for the girl to grab. It was well known around the household that (y/n) liked to have her headphones on with her, even when she wasn't necessarily listening to music. And drawing? It was her passion and her way to cope, she never leaves those two objects behind, but she was visibly nervous enough to forget them.

"Oh thank you very much Mrs. Matsuoka" she said, smiling at her sheepishly as she grabbed her stuff. If she forgot those, her first school day was guaranteed to be terrible. "I could never show you how much I appreciate it" she then said politely. "Gotta go now or I'll be late, bye Mrs. Matsuoka, bye mom!" she said before rushing out of the house, stuffing her notebook in her bag and putting her headphones on.

"No problem miss (y/n), I'm only doing my job after all" the maid said with a smile as she waved at the girl. "Bye have a nice day!" she then said before closing the door behind.

"Morning class, today we're having a new student" the teacher said, in Japanese of course, to catch the students' attention. Everyone went quiet and looked at (y/n), which made the girl grow a little nervous. She didn't like having all the attention on her. "You can introduce yourself" the teacher then said, looking at the new student.

"Uh... hi, my name's (y/n) (l/n)" the young girl said, introducing herself shyly. She went quiet, waiting for the teacher's next instructions. The whole class stared at her, visibly expecting her to say more stuff about herself, while she was left confused of the uncomfortable silence that had taken over the classroom.

After a good minute, the teacher broke the silence by saying "Is that all you have to say about yourself?" as she looked at the new student, which eased her confusion, but increased her stress.

"Oh. Uh..." (y/n) said as she looked down sheepishly, fidgeting her fingers. "I was born in England. I grew up there and moved here recently. I am also half British, half Japanese. I love to draw and listen to music. I also love everything related to lilac, the color, the name, the flower and anything else you could think of it being" she mumbled out, hoping she was loud enough for the entire class to hear.

At her last words, more than half the class turned their head, looking at the guy with lilac hair that was sitting at the end of the class. One of the students spoke up to him, saying "Looks like you've got yourself a girlfriend already, Mitsuya" which caused the class to snicker and nod in agreement. Mitsuya didn't feed into the class' teasing, he decided to simply ignore them and wait for the teacher's next words.

The teacher looks around the class, to spot the empty seats left, looking at the options. Spotting one next to Mituysa, she speaks up. "(y/n), you may go sit next to Mitsuya, right there at the end of the class on the right" she says, pointing the seat.

(y/n) nods and walks over to the place the teacher assigned for her to go sit, hoping that now the seats were assigned, the class' attention would divert from her. Ranpo, the guy who made the comment earlier about Mitsuya having a girlfriend after finding out that (y/n) likes lilac, said "And the teacher ships it, let's gooo!"

"That's enough Ranpo, unless you want to go to detention" the teacher said, not wanting to handle more of the childish shipping, which made the young boy shut his mouth and sit back properly, not wanting to get in trouble.

The bell rang, announcing the end of the day. (y/n) had made it through all her classes, without speaking a word. She was scared to speak, worried to pronounce a word wrong and get made fun of. All she did really was take notes and doodle in her notebook.

The young girl stood up, packing her stuff up. She grabbed her books, shoving it in her bag, but didn't pay attention to the pencil that was laying on top of her book, which fell down in the process of the book being picked up. She bent to reach for her pencil but another hand was quicker to grab it. She looked up to see who it was, turning out to the be the lilac haired guy her class seemed to ship her with. "Here" the young man said politely as he extended his hand for the girl to grab her pencil back.

"Thanks" (y/n) said with a smile, grabbing her pencil, putting it back in her pencil case. She zips it closed then puts it in her bag, to then zip that too. She hadn't noticed Mitsuya staring at her, watching her every move.

"May I properly introduce myself?" he asked, seemingly wanting to start a conversation with the new student. (y/n) blinks, not expecting such offer and looks at him. She ended up nodding in response, which made the lilac haired smile. "My name's Takashi Mitsuya" he first said. He paused, hesitating on what else to say about himself, before saying "I was born here and grew up here. I have two little sisters and like you, I'm also an artist" hoping that the last part would catch the girl's interest.

"What type of art?" she asked, visibly intrigued, which made the boy happy to have successfully drawn her attention on him. She from the start was already interested in him since well- his hair color was her favorite color and he had a good fashion taste, but now that she knew he was also the artistic type, she was even more invested.

"Oh, uh, you could say I'm kind of a designer" the lilac haired replied nonchalantly, shoving his hands in his pockets as he warmly smiled. "Fashion designer, for clothes precisely" he added.

A brown haired guy joined into the conversation. He seemed to know Mitsuya and to hear what he said, he seemed a little annoyed, since he wasn't giving himself enough credits. "What do you mean? You are a designer, not just 'kind of' one, you're making it sound like you're some kid who watches crafting tutorials to make a dress for their doll" he said, rolling his eyes at him.

Mitsuya chuckled, visibly amused by his friend's annoyance. "Whatever you say" he said, not giving in too much into his words. "Anyways, I gotta go now, I'll you see you tomorrow (l/n)" he said, giving her a small wave.

"Oh. Um, see you tomorrow too Mitsuya. And you can call me (y/n), by the way" the (h/c) haired said, with a nod, returning the smile at the guy standing on front of her.

"Only if you call me Takashi" the lilac haired replied. (y/n) nods in response and watches Mitsuya leave the classroom, with his friend, which (y/n) didn't get to find out the name of.
