Adam had fallen into life living with Daniel and Yunias surprisingly smoothly. It was Monday now, which meant he had been there for three days. It felt like he had lived there forever, in a good way. He had found out yesterday that this was in fact Daniel's house but their families were so close that he considered both houses his, as did Yuni.
Huh, when did I start calling him Yuni? Thought Adam. Some where along the way Yunias had become Yuni, and Daniel, Danny. There had been no more blow jobs, or any mention of them since that first time. In fact Yuni and Daniel (who he reluctantly admitted to himself were his friends) had went about their lives as if nothing had happened, leaving Adam to wondered once again if he had somehow Imagined the whole thing. The only thing convincing him it hadn't been some twisted figment of his imagination, was the brief but very much real flashes of pleasure he'd get anytime it floated in his mind.
On top of that, Adam was meeting Yunias family today. He had two twin baby sisters, Aluura and Anuura, who were possibly the most adorable little baby girls he had ever seen, and Adam had a feeling that the picture Yuni had shown him last night didn't do them justice. Next was his dad, a short, almost plump man who looked to be in his late or mid 50's, who had smile lines creasing his eyes and shared Yuni's light, towheaded hair. Finally, Yuni showed him a picture of his mom, and despite himself Adam was struck by her beauty. She was all dark skin, dark curly hair, and dark, soul piercing eyes that made Adam understand where Yuni got it from.
Thumpa, thump. Thumpa, thump. Thumpa, thump.
Adam shook himself from his thoughts of Yuni's family as the he heard the sound of the two boys finally coming down the stairs. And Adam was struck, not for the first time, (and he suspected not for the last either) how Daniel and Yuni seemed to have been made for each other. Even the way they walked blended together in a perfect rhythm of their love, with Daniel's heavy step followed by a light one, almost as if he was skipping down the stairs, and Yuni's feather light, consistent footsteps.
Despite being nothing but grateful to them, he still had to fight the painful throb of his heart whenever he witnessed moments like these that only served as a reminder of just how much the boys loved each other. Of just how hopeless his love for Danny was.
"What's got your dainty panties in a twist?" Danny's voice floated over him, his teasing laughter evident.
Adam took a moment to appreciate this new, unfamiliar version of Daniel he was only just beginning to see. The previous hostility between them was all but gone now, though it shone through once when Adam had left and not told either of them where he had gone. Later Danny explained that he was just worried, and Adam, of course, had forgiven him. The version of Daniel that had been angry, and mean, and quiet, and just a bit pious in his studies, was quickly fading, replaced by this new, realer version of Daniel, who was quick to laugh and tease, and even quicker with a witty reply for every situation. It made Adam smile a unreasonable amount knowing that he was getting to know a Danny no one else except Yuni knew.
"Yuni says not to be nervous about meeting his family." Daniel chirped, suddenly right in front of him. Adam didn't even startle, used to his habit of suddenly appearing when Adam seemed most spaced out, even after only a few days.
"I'm not worried." Adam replied, as convincingly as he could.
Daniel only grinned, no doubt seeing right through his half truth. "Liar."
Yuni saved Adam from having to think of a reply by grabbing his boyfriends hand and pulling him towards the door. It was obvious what he was trying to say; it was time to go.
Adam gulped nervously and tried to distract himself by focusing on what the boys were wearing.
Yuni was wearing a dark green hoodie and dark grey sweats with long black Nike socks. Adam wasn't surprised, even though it was April already and the weather was in the 70's, Yuni still insisted on wearing hoodies and sweats. The only time he had seem him in anything different was that first night, when he was wearing a tank top instead of a hoodie. Even then, that was probably because he had accidentally cock blocked them.
Daniel on the other hand was dressed completely the opposite. He had a white Malibu beach tank top on, with the sides cut off to reveal his toned, slim swimmers body (Adam assumed it was a swimmers body, he had gotten distracted before he had the chance to ask) and yellow basketball shorts that hung low on his hips, and finally he threw on a pair of yellow vans with white ankle socks.
It was almost comical to see them next to each other, dressed completely differently but going to the same place. Adam had thrown on a black t shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap.
"Let's vamos." Said Daniel with a wicked grin shot in Adam's direction. The boy tried, and failed, to swallow his nerves. As they walked silently the short distance to Yuni's house. When they reached it, Yuni knocked twice.
There's no going back now. Thought Adam as the door swung open.
