I went outside and there was a light rain. I was worried about Blueberry and avoided a bunch of these things. I smelled some pastries and I saw a figure of someone in a bakery. I quickly ran and noticed it was Blue. She was leaning over a garbage can and she had what looked like vomit on the side of her mouth.
I ran to her because she looked so forlorn. As I touched her shoulder she got up and started walking out of the room. Outside she stood in the rain and was proceeding to mill about. Then she stopped and looked at some of those creatures.
"YOU ASSHOLES!"
She screamed at them and started to run towards them, but she concluded her sprint and curled into a ball on the ground. Suddenly she began to sob and the beings came forth. I realized that she wasn't getting up any time soon and she might get bitten by them.
"Fuck-no. BLUE!"
I sprinted to her and picked her up, but she gave no help causing it to be harder to get back. Instead I ducked into a house that had a functioning door and locked it behind us. I put her on the ground only to look at her body that seemed so lifeless she could be known as dead.
I went up to her and wiped away some blood off her cheek and usually she would push my hand away, but she let me hold her face. She then crawled up into my lap and held on like today would be the last time we would ever see each other.
"I'm sorry."
Her voice sounded so weak and fragile, and she loosened her grip on me.
"Blue, it is fine. You don't need to apologize."
"Puppy..."
She managed to choke out that word before tears began to streamed down her face and it was hard to decode what she was saying. I did manage to figure out a few words.
"Mom-Dad-dead"
Wait, what?
"Your Mom and Dad are dead?"
She only nodded and I didn't know what to do, but I remember a saying that she told me that her parents once told her.
"Don't worry. You're safe. You're alright. You're here."
