Dandy glared at Penelope as he drove. She was silent and did not say a word.
"Is everything okay?" Dandy asked politely. Penelope smiled at him in response.
"Your very quite" he said, she took a deep breathe. Penelope stop thinking about Jimmy, Elsa and the freak show, you deserve tonight: she thought to herself.
"I'm sorry, I'm just enjoying the breeze and finally being out of that hell hole" Penelope said. Dandy grinned.
"It's an honor to be here with you Penelope" Dandy said as he parked in front of a gorgeous big White House. Penelope's jaw dropped, she fell in love with all the colorful flowers, Dandy had helped her out of the car, her mind was busy taking in the beauty of his mansion that she had tripped and was caught in his arms. He held her by her waist, tracing down slightly over her hips. They're eyes connected as this happened. Penelope lost herself in his eyes, her cheeks turned roses pink as he let go of her and held her small delicate hand. He led her to the door and opened it up for her. She walked in, she heard her pearly white heels clack on the beautiful floors. She looked around in awe.
"It's absolutely gorgeous Dandy" Penelope said, he smiled and gently placed a hand on her waist making her cheeks blush once again.
"Dandy? Darling is that you?" A voice called from the room near them. Dandy rolled his eyes as his smile faded, Penelope watched his face expressions, he smiled back at her, his face coming closer to her as he spoke
"Ready?" He was inches from her face, her knees were beginning to become weak, she nodded. Dandy led her to the dinning room, as there stood two woman: one slightly older and another in a maid uniform.
"Mother, this is Penelope" Dandy said as he held her hand. Penelope smiled.
"Oh Dandy! She's beautiful! My name is Gloria" she said as she took Penelope in for a hug. Penelope smiled and inhaled her perfume.
"Glad to meet you" Penelope said shyly as Gloria let go of her.
"Dora! Fetch them dinner" Gloria said. Dandy pulled Penelope a chair, she sat down and he tucked her in. He ran to the other side of the dinning table and sat down himself.
"Dora I'm starving!" Dandy called out, he stared at Penelope's beauty, the way her hair naturally created fluffy curls, her porcelain skin, perfect cherry lips and how a small dimples appear whenever she smiles. Dora walked in setting a big plate in front of Penelope, steak and a gorgeous garden salad then setting the same thing in front of Dandy.
"No comment?" Dora said giving a dirty look to Dandy.
"Not yet. Now go away" Dandy said as he took a fork and knife.
"May I get you anything else?" Dora said looking at Penelope with a sweet smile. Penelope smiled back, she was confused with Dandy's awful behavior.
"No, thank you, it looks delicious" Penelope said making up for Dandy's rude remarks. Dora's smile grew as she walked back to the kitchen. Dandy looked up at Penelope. Before he began to speak he noticed his mother still in the room.
"Mother..why are you still here?" He said in a harsh tone.
"I'm just very happy for you Dandy I-"
"LEAVE! YOU MIGHT SCARE HER OFF" Dandy shouted. Penelope was horrified, she watched Gloria scurry into the other room, Penelope looked at Dandy, he smiled at her as if nothing had happened. She smiled back keeping her thoughts and comments to herself. Dandy realized that he was probably not impressing her.
"I'm sorry my mother is vey overprotective." Dandy said watching Penelope eat. She swallowed the bite she had taken.
"You don't need to apologize, I'm just a guest at your lovely home" she said. Dandy was blown away by her manners.
"So tell me Penelope, what is a beauty like you doing at a Freakshow? You definitely do not need to participate in being a cute little clown." Dandy said assuming that was her occupation. Penelope giggled a bit.
"I'm a freak" she said in a low voice. Dandy chuckled, he didn't find anything different about her.
"Penelope you are by far one the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on, I highly do not believe that you are a freak" Penelope laid her arm flat on the table then began to twist it, his eyes enlarged. It wasn't humanly possible. She did the same with the other.
"I'm unbelievably flexible" Penelope said smiling at Dandy's surprised look on his face. He clapped as she laughed in amazement.
"Your are full of surprises! Truly amazing Penelope" he said. She bowed playfully.
Penelope became lost in conversation with Dandy. He began to tell her about himself, she felt butterflies fly around her tummy as he spoke. They both had finished eating and sat in his room, both leaned against the couch, he played with her hair as they spoke. She loved how he looked so innocent as he spoke to her. Penelope felt as if she had a huge connection to Dandy, as Dandy felt towards Penelope.
"Secret for a secret?" Dandy said, hoping to hear about Twisty. Penelope nodded, she trusted him. So she told her deepest secret about Twisty her father. Dandy felt thrilled to know more about Twisty, he knew Penelope was his last hope to feel something. He stopped playing with her soft hair as he caressed her hand.
"I knew him too" he said in a whisper, Penelope's eyes widen. She felt her heart stop beating.
"We were friends! Close friends!" Dandy said with slight tears. Penelope leaned toward him more.
"He loved you dearly Penelope." Her caramel eyes began to shine with water producing. He caught the tears before they fell down her face.
"He was my only friend" Dandy said.
"Knowing you are his offspring, makes me think that there could be hope for me and you.." Dandy said. Penelope's heart raced. Dandy was the gateway to know more about her father. She wanted to be exactly like her father so he can be proud of her. Penelope took Dandy's face in her hands.
"We need eachother.." Penelope said. Dandy held onto her words, not expecting them. He smiled, pulling her onto him for a hug. He held her tight. Still holding onto her, he pulled her back a bit. Her eyes looking into his blue eyes. He felt a new emotion race through him, a tingle in his tummy, heat on his cheeks and a sudden want to kiss her and never let her go.
Was this what love feels like?
