"WAKE UP YOUR GONNA BE LATE FOR SCHOOL" My mom was a very last-minute person she took me to school 15 minutes before I had to be in my class, and we lived 15 minutes away. I put on these baggy blue jeans with a short NASA t-shirt. I was ready to walk into that classroom and run it. I had some friends, so I wasn't completely alone, we were our own little friend group. I had to sit next to the two dumbest people ever, they both did nothing and just sat there that's it . I saw everyone come in except London. Me and London were super close. We told each other everything and I mean everything. We had a lot in common. We both have anxiety and we both have the same style and humor. I kind of like her a little bit but I didn't know for sure who I liked. I didn't feel romantic about anyone. I wanted a romantic relationship, but I didn't have the best role models. My parents got divorced well actually broke up when I was 7. That was 4 years ago, and I was used to it, my mom always yelling and my dad trying to get her to be quieter, so I didn't hear, I always heard though. I saw London standing at the door. I had a huge smile on my face, but she didn't come in, she froze, she just stood there. I didn't understand, did I freak her out, did she see someone she didn't want to see, I was worried more than usual. I saw Lilly. I was friends with her before everyone else. We dated for like 2 days then she said I was cringy, but I didn't care never really liked her anyways. She waved at me, also looking concerned about London. But on the other hand, London's "best friend" didn't care at all she didn't even look up at her. There were these new girls they seemed super nice, but I could never talk to anyone I didn't talk to online first. Their names were Maddie and Jade, super pretty I felt almost jealous of them, but I didn't really spend time worrying about my looks, it was more my weight, and they were both super skinny. Class started and we all had to say our names and I was never good at speaking but there was a dude in front of the table I sat at he said his name was Jacob I don't know what happened to me I felt like I actually liked a dude, but it was mainly his hair. In the next class I sat next to Rick. We always somehow got put together in classes. He looked at me and said "great you" I gave him a death stare and grabbed a sharpened pencil and stared at him he shut up after that. (I used to stab people with pencils when I got mad, or I didn't like them; he was my main target.) Then he walked in Jacob. He sat in front of me and looked at me. I tried not to say anything, but I said, "hey I'm Eli but my friends call me El" "Like eleven from stranger things?" he asked if I just said, "yea I guess so" and laughed. I ACTUALLY TALKED WITHOUT STUTTERING OMG OMG OMG. My math/science teacher seemed nice (we only got 2 teachers for the main stuff). I started to talk to Rick and Jacob and Jacob was super nice. "You know she used to be the shyest person ever, she also would stab people with pencils" Rick completely embarrassed me I froze up I couldn't speak. "I noticed you were shy,'' Jacob said in a comforting way. "Yeah, I don't really talk that much" I said with an awkward tone. But then I found out LILLY AND JACOB SAT NEXT TO EACH OTHER AND GOT EACH OTHERS NUMBER AND SHE LIKED HIM. When I found out I wanted to cry I don't know if it was because I liked him or I thought I should feel this way. In our art class (which was my favorite class) we all sat at the same table: London, Lilly, Riley, and me of course. Jacob came and sat next to us but when I looked over, Maddie was sitting all by herself. I felt her embarrassment. I got it better than anyone in the world, but she didn't know that. She saw me looking at her and I waved and smiled and tried to comfort her and she waved back with a little smile. At my last class me and Jacob kept talking and Lilly looked jealous, but I didn't care at all. I was having fun talking to him. He was the first person to open me up so well except for London of course. London gave him her number so we could all talk because I didn't know my number and he didn't know his. I forgot his name, so I just called him curly hair dude. The next day the teacher sat me next to Maddie because of my poor eyesight. She was super nice and super pretty. We got along well, and she gave me her number. I messaged her and we Facetimed for hours just talking. I was actually happy. My dad got ice cream for me to celebrate a good first day of school.
