I hold on to my shoulder bag as we walk faster down the street. Rei's carrying her dog's leash and the dog, cleo, keeps on running. That's why we're currently catching up to her from time to time.
"No, Cleo!ㅡ This way!" Rei leads. We turn right and head to the flower shop. It's Saturday today, a week after I talked to Cedric. And at school, I tried to find him as we pass by the corridors but still, there's no sign of him. I had to wait for a week.. Here I am. The wind chime jangles as we enter the shop. We catch Kael and Shanaia's attention but it soon shifted to Rei's white furry shitzu. Shanaia rushed towards us and squats down to the dog.
"Is this a she?" Rei nods, unfamiliar with Shanaia. "Oops, my bad. I think I should introduce myself first."
"No, you're good. Vein told me about you," Rei says. "The new part-timer, right?" Shai smiles at this.
I walk towards my place behind the counter. I suddenly remember the paper rose that was left here two weeks ago. I have it in my room and I've been wondering if Sid was the one who left it here. I forgot to ask him when we talked at the caféㅡ it would be embarrassing if it wasn't him.
I sit on the stool as I ask Kael and Shanaia if there were any customers before we came. Kael says there were a few.. that he couldn't really remember how many of them.
"I think there were five?" Shai says, unsure. I just slowly nod, figuring out if Sid was one of them.
A few minutes later, Rei went out with Shai to give us free ice cream. Kael laughs with joy because it's free food again. As soon as they went out, Kael talks about Rei being so friendly. I'm not surprised either. Rei just likes to be friends with the people around our circle. If I have new friends, she'd be friends with them as well. She wants to be comfortable all the time. That happened with Kael. Kael once find her annoying but as soon as they talked here, everytime she visits, they became super close as well. I'm sure Rei and Shanaia are laughing at the store by now.
I see Kael taking off his gloves as I drink water from my bottle. He walks towards the counter where I'm standing.
"Are you reading?" He asks me. I think he noticed the book I just shut. I wasn't reading anyway.
"I wasn't." I place the book in the shelf under the register. "What is it again this time?"
He made a face. "Have you heard about the upcoming clubs?
"The clubs at school? I did hear about it.." I say. Students around school are giving fliers for their club and I still haven't choose one to sign in. If I can't choose before the school festival, I won't have extra points for this semester. Their points are bigger than last yearㅡ that's what the others are saying. I can't miss it if everybody is going for it. "Have you entered one?"
He points a finger. "No, but I'm making one..."
I nearly gasp. He tells me about him talking to the principal and the teachers for this. I want to salute him for doing so. Not everyone can host a club that fast, unless you're the top in class and a supreme student officer. Founders of those clubs can also get extra points for this sem and an automatic pass for the next summative test.
He stares at me for a while. And I think I know what those looks mean. I smile and shake my head. "I'm not making one."
"Then you're going to join me in the club.." he smiles, understanding what I said.
"I don't even know what kind of club it is, I might decline it," I say with a grin. "I don't like cosplaying.. If that's what you're making."
"Don't you trust this guy?" He points at his self. "I already have the members in mind. And that includes you."
