Some say that living the teenage life is going out to parties, hanging out with a bunch of friends and breaking the rules. For me that’s a nightmare. Where as others say such as myself, Alexis Marble would prefer to curl up in my soft bed with a book. That is what I call life.
It is now the last day of school and i am reading a wonderful novel before class starts. While in deep thought the book is snatched away from my hands. Frowning I lift my head to encounter the queen bee Sophia Spears. Just kidding its my best friend, although if you take one look at her you may think she’s the cliché high school bitch but she really isn’t. Her light blonde hair and bright blue eyes admired by everyone cannot be compared to my dark black hair and brown eyes. We weren’t the pair to be expected.
“Hey girl! New book?” she wonders flicking through the pages. i nod my head but she doesn’t look because she already knows the answer.
“Oh I know this book it's so good!” she exclaims giving it back to me.
“You don’t even read but nice try” I say taking my book back searching through the pages trying to locate where I was.
She doesn’t read at all, last time she read a book was in kindergarten and it was a picture book. “Yeah okay whatever. You want to come to Dave’s party tonight?” she speaks jumping up and down. Knew this would happen. Staying quiet her gleeful smile turns into a frown. She shrugs her shoulders walking around the table to sit next to me. "Whatever worth a try” she says giving up.
Going back into the atmosphere of my new read of the day again I am interrupted with a loud slam of the classroom door. Walking in is Derek Denton, with his presence Sophie’s dull expression is immediately lightened up into a bright smile showing off her pearly whites.
“Hey Derek!” she squeals waving her hand “you coming to Dave’s party tonight?” she asks twirling her platinum hair around her finger.
Being fed up with her flirting I pack up my things clutching it to my chest I stand up “Derek you can come sit here I don’t mind” I speak to him signalling to the dark grey chair next to me.
He walks up towards me wrapping his arm around my shoulders forcing me into a hug “thanks Alexia! See you later allexigator” He says before he sitting himself down besides Sophie.
I really wish he would stop calling me that, I’m not a crocodilian who is raised commercially for my meat and skin for bags and shoes, I’m not an accessory! As I sit down at the back of the room just when the teacher walks in to teach the class, well try to teach. As she chatters away about endless pointless information I sink back into the book blocking off the rest of the world.
