The story is set in the Modern world where humans and werewolves have come to a contract for a peaceful society. The traditional practice of werewolves where alphas were considered the breadwinner and omegas were just a breeding machine , have come to an end.

Now, Omegas can also be an earner for their family and Alphas are also said to be a part in making a home environment. Various movements also come across in pursuit of granting rights to the oppressed.

Though there are some people too who still manages to run by traditional rules but the world society as a whole is moving towards equality and modernity.

Females irrespective of their ranks and omegas irrespective of their genders give birth.

There are no destined mates like earlier. One can choose their own partner , can marry and divorce , if they want, similar to humans.

The only advantage of werewolves left is their ability to smell and their territorial nature.

Werewolves engaged to their respective partners via scenting , means to give their own smell to their partners to indicate that they are taken.

With the mixing of Human genes in their blood that seems to give birth to hybrids, indicates that they got evolved with time. Hence, there is no wolf present in them anymore as a result they can't transform to their wolf form. They are now their own owners but sometimes their Predator or Prey instinct comes into action when they notice some threat over their partner or it could be because of their arousal.

It is difficult to cut the bond between two werewolves as they imprint on each other but not impossible. Both will suffer pain but with time, the bond weakens and they can move on.

Though , the world is moving towards betterment but there's still a class which is considered 'inferior' by both alphas and omegas and is still in need of acceptance on large scale.

Betas are also born from alpha-omega pairings but they are considered  "inferior". It is a rank in between. They are strong as well as delicate. It depends on the ratio of alpha and omega genes mixture in them. Some betas are strong in strength as the alpha gene in them dominates over the other while some are submissive as omega genes dominate in them.

Since Betas are not dominant as alphas nor as breed-able as omegas as they can't give birth, they are less likely to be chosen as mates by other ranks and seen as in "low" position. However, this perception is slowly fading away but still relevant in the society.

Kim Taehyung thinks himself to be lucky to born in a lovely family. They never made him realize that he is a 'mistake' , as people tend to call Betas like that,  instead he has been taken care of like a Prince with love and warmth.

The first time Taehyung comes to know about the social evil is when he was in high school. Based on his looks and features, people often mistook him as an Omega and he also didn't bother to correct them. It was during a project of P.E. which had to be taken based on their ranks. Everyone gets shocked when Taehyung stands in the line of Betas and since then the bullying started.

It was more of a verbal insults rather than physical and if they tried to do something , it's on places not straightly visible. It continued for six months approximately , when one day Taehyung was found crying in his room tightly clutching the blanket, by his mother.

Namjoon and his parents noticed his behavior for a few days , when Taehyung refused to meet their eyes , always found cooped up in his room, not eating regularly, tried to make excuses for going to school and he was thankful for their understanding because they didn't question him. It was strange for them but one day when Namjoon noticed bruises on his wrist , he immediately knew that something is happening to his baby brother.
