The Holy Light

            A thousand years ago, a battle between Gemons and dragons ruined the world. The air was stale, the earth barren. The seas raged and the sun vanished. The world fell into darkness. This was the disaster of Pravoka. The saints mourned the people’s agony and prayed upon the white land. When thousands of voices were lifted in prayer, Soyid began the advent. Soyid is their God. He defeated the dragon, sealed the Gemons, and cleansed the world. Soyid blessed the world renamed it Strabal. He then endowed the saints with his wisdom, and entered a deep sleep. The saints were enlightened by the wisdom they received Soyid. Those who were blessed with the words of Soyid glowed with an inner light. Thus, they become known as the Lucent. This is how the light of Lucent religion brought civilization to man. After the saints prayed, Soyid brought advent to the white land and named it the holy land, Canol. Other lands remain asleep until Soyid wakens once again.

In the year that Sir Lemo, bearer of the Fingerprint, was born, the congress foretold that the Gemons would soon gain power. Gemons are the witches. The loathsome existence of Gemons caused the destruction of Pravoka. To prevent the world from falling into darkness once again, it was decided that resources would be spent to train humans to fight Gemons. And so, the White Light, was established. People with various abilities came here to work together. Specialized soldiers are trained from birth to fight Gemons. These students are raised to be the best Lucent has to offer. Training is necessary in every field, not simply in battle, but knowledge and research, in order to fight gemonic craft wherever it may be found. The students of White Light are known as ‘Starlights.’

            The seven elements make up the world. They are Nature, Fire, Wind, Water, Light, Dark and Thunder. Nature grants life, the power of spring. Fire raises life, the power of summer. Wind cures life, the power of autumn. Water chills life, the power of winter. The Sun shines upon the earth. The Moon guides in the dark night. Thunder brings change. All powers resonate with each other, and the various phenomena are caused by their impact on the world.

“Did you hear? Someone from the villagers were attacked by monster controlled by the Gemons!” said the green suited monk. “I never thought we’d see the day when Gemons would roam the earth again…”

            “Perhaps this has something to do with the death of our former Grand Cardinal.” said the brown one.

            “Our new Grand Cardinal, Lemo, is only thirteen years old. He is a bit young, even if he was certified by our former Grand Cardinal.” said the green one, whispering to each other. “You didn’t hear this from me, but I doubt he’ll be a good Grand Cardinal. The peace that has been protected by Lucent is ending…”

            As they continue to gossip, someone distracted by their conversations behind them “Hold your tongues… Such talk cannot be tolerated.” An old man wearing a red cardinal hat that matches his robes, a sash has a line of a true priest and a holy symbol in a middle of his coat as a sign of their people’s faith.

            “C-C-Cardinal!” the two monks jump out as they saw Cardinal Quo, the Cardinal of the Lucent Church.

            “Your Eminence!” said the brown monk.

            “What’s the meaning of this? Spreading malicious gossip our Grand Cardinal, the voice of our Soyid…” Cardinal Quo growled.

            “P-Please forgive us!” cried the green monk.

            “Silence! You two have committed blasphemy against Lemo… no, against our Soyid!” Cardinal Quo raised his left hand “Guards! Seize these two sinners!”
