'Good morning mom!' Morning Mathew! Answered my mom from the kitchen while she was making breakfast. I could smell the delicious food all the way from my room, I could simply guess what it was and I did. Eggs. They are delicious but well, having eggs for breakfast every day isn't the best thing ever. Mom, when are we gonna have something more than eggs and toast for breakfast? I asked kindly without trying to offend her or making it sound like I hate the food. Mathew I know it's not the best breakfast but it's all we can afford, we're not rich. I know mom it's just that i'm a bit sick of eating eggs for breakfast every day! Isn't there something else we could afford? I ate my food and then walked off . It was the last day of school, finally. No homework, no pressure. I was delighted!
I could hear footsteps behind me, of course I knew who it was. Gary, my best friend since playschool. What's up Mathew! Oh my god Gary stop trying to creep up on me! It's not going to work, haven't I said that already? I said in a hopeless and annoyed voice. Still worth a shot. Gary exclaimed after a quiet sigh. I felt something touch my head, it felt like a water drop. 'A bird just pooped on you!' Screamed Gary. He started tearing up from laughing. Gary's skin turned from a pale cream colour to a salmon pink. Seriously? I said to stop him from laughing. He rubbed his curly brown hair and it became a mess. Gary, your hair looks like a bird's nest. I said that as a joke, but it did! Well we're here now see ya, I'm going to rub this off my hair. I said and Gary followed by a ' okay, see ya!'. After five minutes I managed to get the poop off my head. My brown hair went from straight to fluffy. It looked like I was trying to be Chad. Chad was basically every popular boy from a high school movie. I walked to my classroom. Since the bell just rang , and sat down at my desk. Imagine what the holidays are going to be like, no homework and no chads around. I said in my head as I started to doze off to a very long daydream. I came back to the real world and saw our teacher telling us to have good summer holidays. The bell rang and like everyone else I stood up and got ready to leave through the front door of our school. I saw Gary standing there waiting for me. How was the day? Gary asked. Same as every other day Chad was being Chad and everyone else was trying not to fall asleep. We walked home and after a couple of minutes we got to our destinations.
How was school Mathew? Asked my mom as I walked through the door. Good, basically like any other day mom. How was your day? I asked with an interested tone of voice. Oh I wasn't doing much, just working all day. I sat down and my mom served me the best dinner ever! Chicken legs and mashed potatoes! After I finished my dinner I decided to go explore the forest. Bye mom, I'm going outside! I screamed and my mom answered ' alright don't stay out there for too long!'.
I left through the backdoor , it was an open field so I didn't need to go around the house. I ran up the hill at the back of my house and entered the forest. At first I took the path of the forest but then I decided to go off the track, to make things more interesting. Once in a while I would see the sun fade away because of the tall green oak trees. My mind wandered off somewhere but I was still walking through the forest. Once I snapped back into reality I saw a mystical looking cave. It was made of rock, obviously but it was also part of a hill that was attached to a small mountain. The cave had lots of moss on it and vines growing everywhere. I took my flashlight to see better. It was pitch black! I walked for a while but finally I got to the end of the endless tunnel.
Before my eyes could adjust I got hit with a beam of light! A beautiful garden was there! It had grass as green as a highlighter and beautiful flowers growing everywhere! There were roses, tulips, daisies and asters growing all around! There was this pretty waterfall , it came from a small slit in the rock surrounding the garden. Beside that waterfall there was a small house. The roof was made of straw and the base of the house was made of grey bricks. It had a wooden door with iron holding it together. The house also had tiny circular windows also made of wood.
