Short Story: The light

It had been a long day and Jake had decided he'd leave his homework for the morning. He plopped on his bed laying there in complete comfort. It was quiet and peaceful..until he heard it.

It wasn't, like a noise? But it was in a way. It was indescribable. Jake stayed on his bed thinking it was his mind playing with him but it didn't leave and got more intense. He decided he would get up and try to find it.

He gets up and looks out his window. He lives right across the street of a daycare. When he looked out, he saw a light. It was a bright white light coming from inside. It wasn't just a light getting turned on, it was as if the light was eating the daycare.

Curious and attracted to it, he grabs a flannel and walks out the door. He was so fascinated by the light he hadn't relized he forgot his phone and keys. He slowly walked toward it. The closer he got, the more it looked like it took up more of the daycare.

When he got outside of the daycare, the light had now become a part of the daycare. Jake opened the door eager to discover more, but before he could take another breath, the light went everywhere. It surrouded him, and he could no longer see. That's when he felt as if he was being poked by thousands of needles at once. He couldn't see his body so he had no idea what was going on. That's when he realized, he wasn't in the light, the light had grabbed him.

The pirecing feeling of needles was the grasp of something, something awful. Jake regretted ever leaving his house. He regretted everything. When he finally tried to move, the pins and needles feeling got more intense. It was as if he was in the grasp of something.

He let out a blood curdling scream as he tried to run. Soon he saw what looked like a black hole, and he was moving toward it. He desperately tried to run, he didn't care about the pain, he wanted to live, but it was too late. The creature had gotten him and spread all over the world.

The end
