I Wish

So... this is a poem I wrote to my best friend. A guy. Too afraid to actually tell him, so I wrote it as a poem and posted it on Wattpad. It's a bit sad.

You were my best friend

I was always there for you

And you were always there for me

Whenever I was feeling blue

You liked a girl

That wasn't me

Though I was jealous

I let it be

I supported you

Encouraged you

To ask her out

Though you were scared

I was always there

"Don't worry!" I would shout

I stood by

Watching you fall for that girl

And everything around me

Went by in a whirl

I was always there for you

But inside I was dying

Sometimes when I was alone

I'd think about you and start crying

For I was your best friend

And nothing more

I was the shoulder you'd cry on

What else are best friends for?

When that girl rejected you

You cried for hours and hours

For she gave you a look of disgust

When you presented her the flowers

I wish I could tell you

Exactly how I feel

That the little crush I had on you from the beginning

Had grown much more real

But if I told you

Our friendship would be through

Because you wouldn't believe me

If I said, "I love you."
