Chapter 1

"BREAKING NEWS! Dispatch has confirmed 2019's first couple: Exo's Kai and Blackpink's Jennie!"

What the actual fuck?
No, no, no.

I stared at the screen with wide eyes as I felt Jennie, who was sitting next to me, stiffen in the embrace we were holding.  I dropped my arms from her waist as calmly pushed her away from me and leaned closer to the TV. 

"Lisa, I can explain..."

Her voice was almost distant, I knew she was by my side, but all I could concentrate on was the news that was presented to me, while I felt my heart hammer against my throat. 

I watched as the news continued to play on the illuminated screen. Pictures of them leaving our dorm. Jennie getting into his car. They together on a night walk in the park. They in a restaurant smiling at each other.

"Did you go out with him while I was away?" 

It was the only thing I could say. I knew it could be cruel the way my voice sounded hollow as I listen she tried to stifle a sob, she frantically wiped her own tears away.  I looked at her directly.  My heart ached even more when she whispered her answer under her breath. 

"Yes, we were hanging out.  But Lisa, I..." I raised my hand taking my eyes off her, signaling her to stop. She clung closer to me. 

Holy shit, this hurts.

I wanted to push her away from my body, and yell at her what a motherfucker she was for hurting me like that. But It was Jennie, and I had to control me. I would never forgive me for making her hurt.  I would never hurt her of my own free will.

Fuck.

"It seems that the couple have been dating for a while now, and although we haven't had any confirmations from any of their labels we are more than certain that they have been romantically involved recently..."

Jennie tried to hold on to my arm, as I put on standing. I watched Jisoo and Rosé stood up nervously and looked at me disoriented. 

"Lisa..." Jisoo called my name as Jennie's eyes looking at me sadly. I clenched my jaw. 

"Let go of me"

My voice came out in a low tone, almost a whisper but as scathing as my mood was at this moment. 
Threatening. 
That's how I felt. 

As if at any moment my clenched fists might compulsively smash through the wall until my knuckles ached.  Until the physical pain calmed my aching heart a little.

"Lisa, please..."

"Jennie..."

Chaeyoung whispered and even though I knew it was only for the girl clinging to my body, we could all hear it. 

It was not a good time, and as always, Rosé knew it.

"No please, just let me explain!" 

"Let. Go. Of. Me"

"Just let me explain, baby! Please!"

"Stop asking me to give you a chance to explain and just talk, Jennie!  Tell me!  How are you going to explain this to me?" 

My voice was starting to rise in pitch.  And I was gritting my teeth harder as I took in long breaths, in a failed attempt not to explode. 

I felt full of anger. 

"Lisa, you left and..."

Fucking shit.

It hurt me to hear her talk like that, her voice cracking, her eyes full of panic, her arms clinging to me as if she was afraid of losing me if I loosened her grip just a little, but her words only ended up making me angrier.
