Asher's POV/|
"Here, let me take that from you," I say, grabbing the amp from her hands.
"Thanks," she says, tucking her gorgeous honey brown hair behind her ear.
She's so cute, and her light accent is so sweet.
"Where's your accent from?"
"France. I'm visiting Vivian since we went to boarding school together in Paris."
We step together into the elevator, and she hits the button for the club level. Her hands are so adorably small.
"That's so cool. I've always wanted to visit Europe."
She turns and looks at me with her golden hazel eyes.
"Yeah, it's pretty nice. I guess you'll just have to visit me sometime."
Ooh, she's a cute flirt.
We reach the club level and walk through the elevator doors. Directly to the right is the backstage entrance, so I drop the amp and grab the key that the owner gave me.
While unlocking the door, I realize I haven't even asked her name. Ugh, I'm so dumb.
"I just realized I never introduced myself. I'm Asher, what's your name?" I ask, opening the door.
She steps through the door and turns her head back to answer, "Ellie, but you can call me Elle."
"Alright Elle, did Viv rope you into joining her for the road-trip?"
I pick up the amp and place it just inside the door before following her into the dressing room.
"Yup, I'm here for the whole trip, so you better enjoy my company," she answers with an over-the-shoulder wink.
This tour just got ten times better.
She sits down on a swivel chair by the makeup counter, and I sit across from her on the couch. For a moment, we just stare into each other's eyes.
There's just something about her that makes me want her so bad without even knowing her.
Suddenly, Shayne enters the room, disrupting our moment, "Ok I think we got everything up from the car. We are going to go chill in the club lounge for a bit before setup if you two wanna join."
I stare at Elle to answer for us. I hope she says no. Please say no. Please.
"Maybe in a while. We are good for now. Thanks though," Elle answers.
YES! I am unbelievably excited, and I'm pretty sure Shayne can tell based on the glance he gave me before leaving and shutting the door.
She starts the conversation, "So, what do you play?"
"I'm the lead guitarist and vocalist."
Maybe I should grab my guitar and play for her.
"Ooh, can you play me something?"
Can she read my mind?
"Yeah, do you have a favorite song?" I ask, while grabbing my guitar from its nearby case.
"Do you know 'Chasing Stars' by Alesso, Marshmellow, and James Bay?"
"Umm yes, I love that song. Have you heard it acoustic before?"
"No, not yet."
"I promise, you will love it."
I sling my guitar strap over my head and sit down on the couch. After I check that it's in tune, I start strumming the first chords.
Elle smiles at me before I start to sing, "It was just like magic. When your hips came crashing."
"There were fires burning, and my hands learning. To paint with passion," Elle sings with me.
I'm shocked. She is absolutely amazing.
We continue, "It was planets meeting. It was synced up breathing..."
Wow, her voice is so clear, and she looks so gorgeous when she sings. She is sitting with crossed legs on the stool. Her eyes are closed, and I can hear the passion in her voice.
When we reach the chorus, I switch to singing a harmony. Our voices compliment each other as the lyrics fill the room, "We were chasing stars. Across the county lines. Two imperfect pieces. With our fingers intertwined. And I would do it all again. Knowing I'd be left behind. Oh, what a time. Back when you were mine..."
I look up from my guitar to see Elle with a huge smile across her face. Could she get more adorable?
That's when I notice we aren't alone in the room. To my right is Vivian, Jasper, and Shayne, jaws dropped to the floor.
"Woah," Shayne gasps.
Vivian jumps in next, "Since when could you do that?!"
Elle giggles, "I don't know. Since forever I guess."
"Girl you have pipes!" Jasper interjects.
Elle jumps off the chair and walks over to join me on the couch, "Apparently we sing a mean duet."
"Yeah, I guess we do," I chuckle in response.
"Can I add the fact that your voices blend so incredibly well together? It sounded like you guys had sang together for the past ten years," Shayne comments.
"Thank you," we say in sync.
Our heads dart to each other and we yell out, "Jinx!" Instantly, the room fills with laughter, but all I can focus on is Elle laughing beside me with her hand on my wrist.
