-SABELLE POV-

“How could he do that?” I asked, horrified, tears streaming down my face after hearing what he had told me.

He sighed, and wrapped his arms tighter around me.

“Yeah. The thing was I knew who she was. I knew she was an Iraqi, but I never knew…” He trailed off and I put my hand to his cheek, silently providing him some comfort.

“I’m so sorry Rafael, I’m sorry,” I murmured quietly, until he finally drifted off into sleep.

This must’ve been why Ash chose him. He knew what I was going through.

I thought to myself, before falling asleep myself, trapped in Rafael's warm embrace.

-HAYDEN POV-

I got the text from Rafael when I woke up.

“Holy shit!  Caitlyn! Caitlyn wake up!” I shook her excitedly.

The second she opened her eyes I shoved my phone under her nose, forcing her to go cross eyed trying to read what I was showing her.

From: Rafael Martinez

Sabelle’s given birth. It’s a boy.

Sent at: 12.25am.

“OH MY GOD!” Caitlyn shrieked, and, as quickly as a woman carrying twins could, jumped out of bed to go see Sabelle in the hospital.

Within fifteen minutes Caitlyn and I were set and ready to go.

As we drove to the hospital, Caitlyn chattered non-stop, excited and nervous at the same time.

“Caitlyn, baby, calm down!” I laughed at her and she stuck her tongue out at me.

“So mature,” I teased her, as we pulled up into the hospital’s car park.

“Wait! I need to get something for her! Oh Hayden did we bring that letter?” Caitlyn asked, her face changed, looking panicked.

“Caitlyn Stryker Wolfe will you calm down! Jeez, it’s like you’re the one giving birth,”

She smacked me and took a deep breath. Together we walked into the maternity ward, where Sabelle was, only to find her wrapped up in Rafael’s arms, facing away from the door.

“What…” I muttered, my eyes widening at the sight.

“Shhh… she’s still asleep,” I heard Rafael’s husky voice, like he himself had just awoken.

“We brought these for you,” Caitlyn said softly, her demeanour changing instantaneously, holding out the balloon and basket full of baby toys.

“Yeah, we heard you were opening a toy store and decided to pitch in,” I winked, placing the basket.

Rafael chuckled, and Sabelle stirred.

“Sorry Chiquita. I didn’t mean to wake you,” he said, and from behind Rafael’s back, emerged the new mother, who had her hair sticking out in about fifteen different directions.

“Erm… Sabelle, your hair looks like Beethoven’s, except there’s gel in it,” Caitlyn giggled, and Sabelle groaned.

“Don’t remind me,” she used her fingers to try and tame the mess, but failed miserably.

“Oh… I think you’re gonna be really pissed at me Sabelle but I had to keep it a promise. Swear you won’t kill me?” Caitlyn said, pleading her.
