The Letters, Classic | Suhyeok x Cheongsan

The Letters

Yein, an 10-year-old boy was rummaging through boxes with his 12-year-old sister, He-shin. They didn't know what they were searching for. 

A day before this day, he found boxes that their mother was going to throw out. But wanted to rummage through them before giving them.

For some reason, He-shin knew that there was something important inside the box. And that whatever was in there was probably exciting.

They were into their third box when Yein stumbled across an old antique box. "Hey, I found something!"

He-shin looked at what Yein had in his tiny hands and gasped. It looked like something interesting. When Yein tilted the box, some letters came out.

He-shin got down to the floor and looked at the letters. They were old, and they were all addressed to Lee Cheongsan. "Give me that box,"

Yein gave the box over to He-shin. They both sat on the dirty and dusty floor. 

She opened the box and saw more letters, but it was addressed to Lee Cheongsan.

"These must be both sides!"

Yein nodded at his excited sister and looked at the letters carefully. They looked old and were written in beautiful cursive that could read like a swan passing by the river.

He saw some numbers on the top, it was marked with 1.

He-shin must've of saw it because they were squealing together in excitement. They left the room and jumped onto the couch where their mother was at.

Weomi, the mother, looked at confusion to the kids and then looked at what they were holding. Weomi smiled and remembered her face when she first saw those letters.

She missed her grandparents who told the story. It was so beautiful and certainly was a classic love story.

She got up from her seat and put a blanket around the kids. "Make sure to read very carefully and enjoy every moment of the letters, there also is a diary who belonged to Cheongsan. I can go get it for you," 

He-shin and Yein squealed with more excitement as their mom rushed upstairs.

It's been some years since we last which was 2 years ago. I'm in my final year of high school and was rummaging around when I found that we exchanged addresses! 

I almost forgot because we were so young!

Remember we used to protect each other in the locker rooms when we were in middle school?

Please write back! Really miss you and want to know if you want to meet up in a while?

Oh my god hi! It's been so long since we last met! Thanks so much for reaching out!

I almost thought you forgot about me! I thought about you every minute since I moved away. 

Hows school? I'm also in my senior year, and not gonna lie, it's PRETTY IMPOSSIBLE! 

I somehow managed to pass the tests that were handed out a month ago?? Lemme tell you that I had to make a whole study marathon and study schedule to make sure I literally don't fall on my ass in my worst subjects.

That's so unlikely of me, right?

I was about to shit my pants when I saw that I got an 89% on my English.

Did you fail English yet? I remember you being so good but it got so much harder!

And we HAVE to meet! It's been so long and I miss you! I'm currently at school in Hyosan!

Hahaha! I totally did a study session with my friends after I found out that I was failing math! I think it's because I sleep most of the time!

And Hyosan? Wow, that's pretty close!

I'm in Daesan!

Let's meet during lunch in that small udon place! I think a lot of school students go there during lunch so we might be able to meet!

Maybe on Thursday?? Which is like 4 days from now! So that's plenty of time!
