Summary:

Caleb celebrates another year around the sun! Used to spending his birthday alone, Caleb goes through the adjustment of having a boyfriend to share his special day with.

Notes:

This is a cute chapter for our boys, sprinkled with some trademark debauchery of course. Caleb really begins to realize how nice having a boyfriend is--even beyond the title, having someone in his corner that genuinely cares for him definitely brings all the ~feels~ that he's still learning how to process <3 Please continue to enjoy domestic Cake while it lasts! (*cough* ;P)

ALSO WE HAVE SOME EXCITING NEWS.

As of Saturday, we've officially put our first novel, Off Season, up for sale on KDP! This has been a love and passion project of ours for over three years, and we're so incredibly excited to share it with you all. Parker and Derrick were written at the same time as Caleb and Blake, and are in somewhat of the same ~hockey universe~, if you will. If you've enjoyed our angsty boys so far, we think you'll enjoy the story of Parker and Derrick as well. Here's a link and blurb!

Blurb:

Hit The Floor meets Love, Simon in Off Season, a story of friends turned lovers. Follow Parker Woods and Derrick Åström over the course of twenty-two off seasons, in which their hockey careers blossom.

Parker comes from simple beginnings in small-town Minnesota. His mother Darcy had two requirements for her only son: don't end up in the military or a jail cell. Hockey started off as a casual hobby to fill the time, but natural talent and a little luck contributed to Parker quickly rising the ranks. Now, he is ready to be drafted as a goalie into the National Ice Hockey Conference (NIHC) and make his mother proud.

Derrick was born with hockey in his blood as his Swedish father fell just short of a professional career and now lives vicariously through his son. Derrick didn't choose the sport, but through hard work and his father's iron fist keeping him in line, he's hoping to make it to the top. But plagued by a debilitating anxiety disorder, he's more focused on getting through the day without a panic attack.

When anxious Derrick and party boy Parker room together at a junior hockey camp, no one could imagine the great friendship about to be set in motion. From friends to lovers to nothing at all, the pair will face a lifetime of tribulations as they attempt to conquer the world of professional sports and maintain the connection they first built in a small dorm back when no one knew their names.

TY TY TY from the bottom of our hearts for sticking with us through this amazing journey <3

Caleb

Caleb's selfishness and deep-seated desire to be taken care of had always kept him as a bottom, unwilling to explore—save for outlying experiences with types such as Toby. While what they had just done had been an accident, it had been a damn happy one. Caleb let out a sated sigh, a shit-eating smirk spreading across his lips as he wiped off his cock. "Fuck etiquette," he quipped back, glee glimmering through irises. The events that'd transpired that morning felt like a lifetime ago, the previous grief that had seeped through him replaced with a feeling far more exhilarating. His smirk dropped slightly as he watched his partner thoughtfully, gaze briefly falling towards the floor. He wanted to say thank you, wanted to dedicate an excruciating moment of sheer seriousness to express his gratitude that the man had entertained his twistedness, had played along in spite of being thrust so far out of his comfort zone. And yet the words never fell from him, the act itself being far more difficult than it should've been for the average person. Caleb still wasn't good at this shit, wasn't good at using his words in ways that didn't insult or tease. He wanted to be.
