Tommy felt that his life was relatively normal. That was until he noticed the men following him.
He saw them first about a week ago. After an annoying day of school, Tommy felt he couldn't deal with the sound of the bus. He had decided to walk home, and noticed there was a van following him. It drove slowly, keeping pace with his every step. It was as if they weren't trying to even hide from his gaze.
Then again only two days later, when he was out on a miserable Saturday. He had gotten caught in a heavy rain while at the shops, and was attempting to weave through the crowd.
And there they were. Even though he hadn't seen them in the car, he knew it was them. One was around six-foot with fluffy, shoulder length hair and a crown hairpin. He wore a fancy button-up shirt and sunglasses, despite the lack of sunlight.
The other was shorter, with dirty-blond hair, the underside of it dyed neon green. He wore a simple white t-shirt with two and a half pixelated hearts printed on the front. Even though it was hard to tell with the dark sky and pouring rain, Tommy swore he had no pupils.
A short three days later, they were there again. This time, on a pleasant stroll back and forth in front of Tommy's lawn. Although his father said there was nothing wrong, Tommy swore they were up to something. They were coming for him. For his family.
The next day, they had barged in.
Tommy was sitting in his room, playing a video game when he heard the front door open and his father talking from the living room. He walked to the stairs, peeking down at the scene from behind the railing.
"Philza Minecraft, I assume?" The taller one was speaking, his deep voice startling Tommy. "My name is Eret. This is my partner, Charlie."
Charlie waved briskly and continued speaking for Eret. "We've heard word about a peculiar here. At first, we suspected it was your son, but we soon figured out it was you. Honestly, I'm surprised you've lived this long."
Phil's face had turned pale. He stood next to the coffee table, the TV remote still in his hand. At this point, Tommy had inched down the stairs, landing on the bottom floor. The stranger's gazes flickered to him, but quickly returned to his father.
"I'm not sure I know what you're talking about," Phil said through gritted teeth, venom lacing his words. "I don't know what a 'peculiar' is, and I don't know who allowed you in my house, because I certainly didn't."
Tommy had a closer look at the pair now. He studied the pair, noting the shorter had pupils. It had just been the rain messing with his vision. "The hell were you pricks doing, following me?"
Charlie turned to look at Tommy. "Now, what do you mean, following you?" He asked, a small smile settling on his lips.
"Tommy, go back upstairs." Phil ordered, but Tommy stood still, feet planted firmly to the ground.
There was a scuffling noise by the open doorway. Eret turned to look towards the sound, and also smiled. There was a shadow casting itself into the home. It looked almost inhuman. "Philza, I'd hate for you to meet our friend. You've meet one of them before, I believe?"
Phil glared at the pair. "Get out. I don't want any filthy wights in my home, and I don't want you threatening my only family." His gaze hardened as the two only smiled back. "Get the fuck out."
The figure outside the door made an impatient growling noise. Charlie faked a look of sympathy at the two blondes. "Philza Minecraft, since you refused to come peacefully, we will have to resort to force." Phil stiffened, his eyes flickering to the doorway. The taller of the two had removed his sunglasses, revealing pure white eyes.
"If all goes well, we won't have to use the dreamon."
