The Lonely Girl

The lonely girl she sits there,

Staring into space,

Wishing for a soul mate,

A small sad smile on her face.

She often wonders what it would mean,

To have someone in which to confide

And share with your utmost secrets,

O’ so deep they spark a flutter inside.

Someone to hold her hand,

And to kiss so tender and so sweet.

To have a special name,

And a secret place to meet.

Midnight strolls in silver moonlight,

A loving gesture, a slow dance.

A rose of deepest red,

A life of pure romance.

But this will never happen,

She won’t get the chance you see,

Because the lonely girl just sits there,

Looking down from the oak tree.

She won’t set foot on earth,

Is she worried? Is she afraid?

Her heart has been broken once,

And on it still her hand was laid.

A necklace round her neck,

Its locket held the key,

The key to her life again,

The key for her to see.

That dreaming won’t get her anywhere,

She needs to open her eyes,

Love is what your heart is for,

And that love, it never dies.

Okay so this is my first real poem on Wattpad! Not sure if anyone will read this but if you do then, hope you like it :)
