The cries of a newborn child filled the room. A woman with dark black hair held the fragile child in her arms. She gently caressed the child's cheek, carefully wiping the tears away. She then glided her fingertips over the boy's (h/c) hair. Her husband went to her side to look over his child.

Their heir was brought into the world at last. Y/N was the name they had lined up for the boy. Eventually, the boy quieted down. He was calm enough now that he could open his eyes. The sight of his (e/c) eyes surprised both of them. After all, neither of them possessed such a color.

It was an entrancing color the more they looked at them. But the woman looked away and, instead, turned her attention to her husband. He looked right back at her.

--

(M/R) pat her child's back, relieved that the boy had finally gone to sleep. She hadn't realized how much work a child was, but in the back of her mind, she felt it was worth the trouble. (F/R) stepped into the room quietly.

"Finally asleep...?" he asked in a hushed tone.

Once she set him down in his cradle, she turned to her husband and nodded. They both then left the room, leaving the door open. Inside their room, (M/R) sat down on the edge and sighed tiredly.

The silence between them was comfortable until (M/R) brought up something that had been bothering her. "Why is it that Y/N's eyes are so different from us?"

Her husband turned to her after he'd finished unbuttoning his dress shirt. "Who knows."

"They're not...normal..." (M/R) muttered, recalling how she had felt so entranced when she'd looked into Y/N's eyes.

"And just what in this world is considered normal? (M/R), quirks exist, so this shouldn't be a big deal."

(M/R) couldn't quite shake off the thought, but forced herself to anyway. "Alright. I suppose I should get some rest while I can."

Once in more comfortable clothing, she laid down on her side of their shared bed. Her husband joined her just moments later. They both fell asleep, only awakening when they heard the boy's cries.

The topic of Y/N's peculiar eyes, however, was brought up more and more as the weeks went by. When they inquired any doctors about it, they only received shrugs and uncertain answers. They, (M/R) more, in particular, were close to just accepting the strangeness. That was, until, one of their friends was introducing them to their business associate.

"I heard the news. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Yaoyorozu," The associate said. "I'm sure the boy will have a blessed life."

"How flattering of you to say, Mr. C."

They had been making small talk with the motive to offer a partnership. Somewhere in between their conversations, however, the topic of quirks came up. Out of curiosity, they had inquired their friend's associate about it.

"I'd say my quirk comes in handy considering my line of work."

"If you don't mind me asking, Mr. C, what quirk were you gifted with?"

The man grinned. "Well, you see, I'm able to make all sorts of predictions. I suppose you could call it seeing the future."

"Yes, yes. That sounds very advantageous," (M/R) said. "Is there anything you have to do to use such an ability?"

Mr. C brought his hand up to his chin as though he were thinking. "Predictions come with contact. I need only to touch what I want to predict the future of."

"Have you predicted the futures of other people before?"

"Why, yes. I vaguely remember that my mother was the first person I'd predicted the future of."
