Chapter 11

I spent the next day with Fury, who told me about the avengers I would meet when I first arrived at the compound, who they were and what they could do. He could tell I was very anxious to meet everyone on the team and see my Dad again.

Steve - Captain America/the super soldier
Tony/my Dad- Iron Man/metal suit
Peter - Spider-Man/climbs walls and swings from webs
Sam -Falcon/Bird suit
Natasha - Black widow/ the ex-Russian spy
Bucky - The Winter Solider/the other super soldier

He told me their stories, how they each got their gifts, and then joined the Avengers. All of them had been through something like me. Even Tony had had a hard time, I'm not saying I feel bad for him. Karma is a bitch, but he was held hostage by a group of terrorists a few years ago and even he didn't deserve that. This really helped settle my nerves and fears, knowing I wasn't meeting the whole team at once. The rest of the group had been on a mission and would be back in a few weeks so at this rate i would have spent some time getting to know some of them before the others arrive back.

I spent the whole night trying to memorise whatever l could about each member of the team I would meet, meaning I didn't get much sleep that night. Carol was not impressed when I showed up to our session half-asleep dragging my feet on the training room floor.

"Not much sleep, I'm guessing," She said, to which I gave a grunt with the least amount of energy possible. She quickly got to the warm up and then the session itself and she didn't hold back even thought i could have fallen asleep standing up I was that tired. We work on my control for hours taking breaks when we needed. Last time we focused on my ice and snow powers so today was everything else my Mind control, Mind reading and Telekinesis. We decided to had been training for a few hours when Agent hill walk through the door as I threw a table at the wall with my telekinesis, it nearly hitting her. She gave us a shocked look and then spoke.

"Fury wants to see you both.. if your done throwing things around the room" she said with a small smile before walking out.

"Sorry, about the table" I shouted before she had fully left the room. I turned to look at carol how was also trying to hold a laugh in.
We grabbed our things and made our way up to see fury in his office. After walking down a few corridors we stepped into the lift and made our way up to the top floor, my eyes threatening to close as i stood next to carol who i could hear chuckling to herself at my clearly dry tired state.

Carol knocked on the office door and walked in to see fury sat at his desk writing in a file that i spotted my name on.
"You have a file on me?" I asked as i slumped into a chair in the corner. He looked at carol, then at me and back to carol.

"She didn't get much sleep and then the session was a lot she's tired" he soon understood why i was half asleep in his office.

"when have files on all our agents and the Avengers, It just helps with putting agents together for missions, knowing there skills and background helps" he said loudly startling me awake. After giggling to himself he continued, how was the session, how did she do?" He asked carol getting up from his desk.

"It went better than i had expected even in her current state." Both of them looked and laughed at me. "I can't teach her anything else, she'll make a good addition to the team." She said to him. Hearing those words sent fear down my spine, my hands started to shake slightly.

"What exactly am I supposed to tell the team?" I asked with a shake in my voice I tried to hide from them both. "I can't give my real name or story tony will figure that out easily."

" We want you to keep your story as close to the truth as possible, you were still at hydra, had a bad relationship with your dad but you were kidnapped instead of sold and you were 10 not 8," Fury said which i nodded at. "Your names 'Winter Fury' i took you in when we found you" he continued.

"Which was when?" I asked

"The same as when we actually found you" he replied and i nodded trying to remember as much as possible.

"You'll move to the compound on Friday so you have a few days to shop for what you need and pack your stuff before then. Agent Hill is waiting outside my office to take you shopping for everything you need."

I thanked him and walked out to meet Hill who as he had said was waiting for me. We walked down to the garage and got in the car. My nerves where sky height at this point, I hadn't been outside since i was 8 my hands were shaking and my breathing quickened and i started to panic. I felt hills hand on my arm and i moved away from her up against the car door looking at her.

She spoke softly "your okay, I'll be with you the whole time and we can leave whenever you want to ok?" I moved back into my seat and she continued to say it was okay until i was breathing normally again and the shaking had calmed down. She drove us to town and we went to get clothes first we laughed and talked while we picked out a few different outfit. I never left her side unless i was trying on some of the outfits. I enjoyed Maria company she was calm and relax but if someone got too close she switched to the complete opposite, i felt safe stood with her. As we stood in the queue i got a sudden sinking feeling. How was a i going to pay for this? Was she going to take it all away later like my dad?

"I don't have any money" i said quietly to myself but Maria heard me, she leaned into me and whispered.

"S.H.I.E.L.D is covering it. You don't have to worry about it" she smiled at me to calm my nerves as we walked up to the front of the queue to pay, I hid behind Maria as much as i could. I had begun to feel uncomfortable like everyone was looking at me and judging me. Maria grabbed my hand and we walked out of the shop on to the street and continued our tip, buying everything from a phone to toothbrush to clothes to books, pretty much anything i looked at Maria put in the basket as we shopped. I didn't like the idea of them buying me so much but Maria wouldn't let me walk out of the shop if they weren't in the basket.

When we got back to S.H.I.E.L.D Carol was waiting for me with some bags. I still don't know how she Knew we where almost back but I didn't have time to ask. She rushed me to my room with all of the shopping bags and helped me pack while listening to her favourite music, before heading for food. I didn't eat much my body was ready to shut down with have tired i was after such a long day.

I spent the next few days making sure i had everything i needed and getting ready to move out of headquarter and into the compound. I didn't really leave my room with my high anxiety and packing to do i only left for food and water.

When Friday arrived Carol and i got into the car with Fury and drove to he compound stopping to get breakfast as we didn't have time for any before we left.
