Walking into the library I try to find Chris. Swerving in between the shelves, fantasy books around me. My favorite. I search the old library that my fiance owns. I walk to the back office and see Chris is sitting there. I say, "Hi."

Chris looked startled and got up from his chair, walked towards me, and put his hand on my small baby bump "Hi. I thought you were at home."

I pecked his lips. " I wanted to see you. Also, I was getting another book"

"Why do you want to read all the fantasy books in my library, soon ours."

"I don't know, I thought it would be a fun adventure. I also want to thank you for owning this library because I love it."

"You tell me that every day."

"I know, I know. But it's true"

"It is, isn't it?"

"Of course it is."

" Are you going to close up soon?"

"In about ten minutes I have to finish this paperwork." He said walking over and sitting back in his chair.

"Okay. I'm going to look for a book. Love you"

"Okay I love you too Teagan" he mumbled, looking down at the paperwork.

I exit the office heading straight to the fantasy section. You're probably thinking that I love fantasy way too much to read all the fantasy books in the library. You're correct I fell in love with fantasy books when I was about thirteen when my foster parents brought me to the library. I swerve through the oak bookshelves and come to stop in front of the fantasy books. I've read about half of them. Picking out a book that looks interesting A Brightness Long Ago by Guy Gavriel Kay I start reading the back cover. I open the book and see how many pages there are 448 pages. I'm guessing I could finish it in a day or two. Out of the corner of my eye, I see this big black book.

I walk towards it I'm about to grab it when I hear Chris say behind me "I'm closing now"

"One sec." I grab the book analyzing it. I hear Chris gasp behind me. Looking at him I ask "What's wrong?"

"The b-b-book"

"What about it?"

"That book is bad. My father died because of it," he answered his voice wavering

"What?" Shocked, dropping the book.

"One day I came home from school. I yelled up the stairs 'I'm home Dad' he didn't respond. I was confused because he always let his employees close the library to see me after school. I ran up the stairs in worry. I thought he was having another panic attack. I look at his room and see the door closed which caused me to worry more because he never closes his door. I knocked and my dad didn't answer. I walked in and saw my father in a pool of his blood with scratches up his arms and legs and that book with vines growing out of it. Then the book and vines disappeared. I ran to my friend's house which was down the road crying. I struggled to tell him that my dad died. He called the police. When the police came they questioned me and I told them about the book they thought I was crazy. They said it looked like a suicide. I'm the only one who knows the truth."

"Why didn't you tell me before?"

"Because nobody believes me," Chris mumbled through tears.

"Okay, I believe you," I somewhat lied to him. I believed him but how can something disappear into thin air. He told me how his mother died in childbirth with his little sister who also died. Chris told me that his father was depressed after but his father always made Chris happy. I decided to not take the book. Chris and I walked out of the library hand and hand to his car.
