Victoria sat silently on the couch, the television turned on in the background, Louis calmly playing on the floor in front of her.
She was following the news with apprehension, just like the rest of the world. Entire countries were entering lockdown everyday, one after the other, brought to their knees by a deadly, yet invisible enemy.
The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, was to announce it too for the UK within minutes. Victoria couldn't help but felt a lump in her throat as the journalist read the news of all the new infected and deaths.
In that moment, Catherine entered the room.
"How's it going?" She asked quietly, her voice low.
"It seems bad," Victoria replied without taking her eyes off the screen. "They're going to close everything."
Catherine got closer to the couch, resting her hand on her daughter's head, serious.
"It's going to be okay," she said.
Victoria nodded.
Minutes of silence followed, as the two watched the Prime Minister delivering his speech and announcing the newest rules.
The Princess was feeling empty. Completely drained out. She felt like she couldn't quite understand everything that was going on, and the uncertainty of the followings days and weeks were causing her to feel extremely anxious.
Boris Johnson finished his speech and the program went back to the national news that proceeded with a recap of all the information that had been given.
Without moving, she just slowly shook her head.
"Mum?"
"Yes, darling?" Catherine was trying to keep herself together for her kids, but she was feeling exactly like her daughter, in that moment.
"Mum, how are we going to cope with this?"
The Duchess leaned over and placed a kiss on Victoria's head.
"I don't know, love. But I promise you we will. We will be fine."

"
Are you ready?" Kate smiled to her daughter from behind her camera.
Victoria took a deep breath before nodding. "I'm ready."
"Great. Three, two, one..." She gave a thumb up, meaning the camera was now recording.
The Princess smile, then began talking.
"Hello everyone. Like millions of people, my family and I have been forced to pause our lives in order to protect ourselves and our loved ones. My siblings and I have been unable to go to school, and we all trying to go on with life as best as we can. It's not necessary to be older to understand the incredible challenges that so many countries including the UK have been facing lately. Many people have lost their parents, their friends, their grandparents, their loved ones and are having a really hard time. Because of that, we'd like to thank all the people who are helping and caring for others in these incredibly tough times. You're all important, you're all seen, and we want to thank you with all our hearts. Hopefully, we will be able to go back to our normal lives again very soon. In the meantime, hold still.
We send a hug to everyone, with all of our love."***
