Prologue

Bunni's POV

In this world you can write to your soul mate after you turn 15. Well my birthday is in about 2 hours since it's about 10pm right now I'm just lying awake with a red glitter pen in hand. I'm super excited and I'm going to write to my soulmate as soon as it turns 12:00 but for now I need to find a way to pass the time. I grab my phone and check the time. It's only 10:11pm ugh I hate waiting. I open my Instagram and start scrolling through it. After about and hour is 11:13 so I open the school group chat that's full of almost everyone in the school in it but it's from last year

Yeah I am why are you 
Not tired or something?

It's my almost my birthday 
So I can sleep I'm too
Nervous

Bed now I'm pretty 
Tired at the moment

I say goodbye and check the time at 11:57. I sit up on my bed, turn on my lamp and grab my red pen. As I watch the time tick down 11:58 I continue watching 11:59 I stare intently at the clock 12:00 I uncap my pen and write on the inner part of my wrist "hey I just turned 15 I'm super excited to talk to you" I wait a few seconds until I pass out not before seeing the start of a word appear in black ink on my arm.

~Time skip to the morning~

When I woke up I noticed a small amount of black ink smeared on my sheets. I get excited and look at my wrist. In slightly smeared ink it says "hello I'm also really excited to talk to you...My Rose" there was a gap between you and the last to word almost like they wanted to prove a fact or something. 

I get up a few minutes later I get up and take a shower and head downstairs to make myself some breakfast. Mom worked the early morning shift so she usually comes home at noon but I just need to take care of myself in the morning. I make myself some cereal and eat it then I go back upstairs to my room. I grab my pack of glitter pens and start drawing small things  on my arm like a rainbow or smiley faces. A few minutes later I see "nice drawings rose" written in dark green ink. I had forgotten about the soulmate thing now I made their entire arm full of drawings that's embarrassing. I quickly put away my pens but then I notice more green ink "oh yeah happy birthday rose" I blush and grab my red pen and write back "thank you <3".

A few hours later my mom came home. I think she stopped at the store on her way home because she had bags in her hands but she wouldn't let me see them. "I need you to go up to your room for a bit" my mom said "um okay I guess see you later" I replied and went back up to my room. Then I remembered the party my friends are throwing me later tonight. I put on a tux shirt and vest with a long blue sparkly skirt with a bow tie to match. I put a few hair clips in my curly red hair. The blue looks really nice against my dark skin and the spots of paler skin. I do some pretty blue sparkle make-up then I hear my mom call me downstairs. I head downstairs "where are you going so dressed up?" My mom asks "did you forget the party my friends are throwing me later tonight" I say with a chuckle "I guess I did" she says with a smile "Will you need a ride and what time is it at?" She asks "it's at 8 land yeah I'll need ride it's Kacy's house" I replie "okay sound good after dinner I have something for you" she says "okay I'm super excited also I need picked up at 10 that's when the party is over" I say "okay I'm going to start dinner now" mom says.

After dinner mom told me to clean my plate and sit back at the table so now I'm just waiting on her to come back. Mom comes in with a small gift bag. "Here it's not everything but it's the best one" no my says now I'm excited. Mom pulls out her kphone and starts recording me. I start to open the gift and I find a small black box in the bag. I open the box to find a beautiful blue saffire butterfly necklace and gasp "mom this is beautiful but how did you afford this?" I ask her "I didn't buy it was your grandma's" she says looking away and smiling I put on the necklace and smile my mom snaps a picture. "We'll have cake when you get back for now go get your stuff and lets go to that party." Mom says as I get up and run up to my room to grab my bag.
