Adora sighed...
The blonde was sitting on a crate nearby the entrance of the cave. Still holding Catra's bag in her arms and rather tightly too.
The others would want her to leave soon, so they can activate the heart and defeat Horde Prime once and for all. Shadow Weaver loomed close by and Adora grumbled under her breath. It was because of her Catra left. Adora would've fought Horde Prime a thousand times if it meant Catra staying, but the way Catra disappeared and left, was enough to bring her to her knees and break her heart in so many ways.
She never even got to tell the feline about-
She will.
She's gonna tell her as soon as she gets back. She isn't moving from that spot until Catra walks back through there.
Perfuma came by and startled Adora by clearing her throat. Snapping her out of her thoughts as she looked to the flower princess. But her focus was immediately back at the entrance once again. Hoping.
"Adora... " Perfuma started. She almost couldn't voice what she really wanted to say. There wasn't a right thing to say when Adora was like this. Maybe she should just relay Glimmer's message instead.
"It's almost time to go, Adora. " she said calmly and sincere. Adora's shoulders fell noticeably low. Tears pricking her eyes.
"Thanks Perfuma. " The flower princess, gave a small smile and looked to the entrance momentarily before making an attempt to return to her duties.
"She's not coming back... Is she?... " Adora's voice cracked, stopping Perfuma in her tracks. The Blonde's blue eyes never leaving the cave's entrance. Perfuma came in front of her and Adora's grip tightened on the bag in her hold.
"We all know you're going through a lot. So, we understand, it's no rush. If you want, you can write a note for her for when she does return. " It was an idea. One that made the gears in Adora's head turn. Despite the crushing pain in her heart from losing her best friend again, it was worth a shot. She gave a nod and Perfuma smiled, hugging her tightly and finally going on her way.
Adora exhaled and got up, never letting go of the bag, to go search for a piece of paper. Pfft, funny how she never wanted to let go of the last essence of Catra she had huh?
Finding a pink piece of paper she grabbed a nearby and sat by the makeshift war table they built out of more crates. She scribbled out some of her thoughts onto the sheet. Scribbled the entire thing. Crumpled it up and tossed it behind her, grabbing another sheet and starting again.
Adora did this for about 2 minutes, trying her best not to cover her entire note in scribbles as she stuck her tongue out and concentrated like she was planning a battle strategy.
She exhaled smiling satisfactory. This should do.
"Adora! What the heck? " Glimmer's voice commented on the now heap of small, pink paper on the floor.
Adora blushed in embarrassment and chuckled. "Sorry. Perfuma gave me an idea to write a note for Catra. If she comes back. " Adora looked down at the note in her hand and her eyes grew saddened again.
...
....
.... "It's more of a goodbye letter to be honest... " Adora sniffled. Glimmer pinched her eyebrows.
"Ohhh, Adora. You're gonna make it, you know. " Glimmer came and rubbed behind her friend's back, trying to reassure her. "She-ra has been glitching, i--i can't promise that I will. "
Glimmer didn't know what to say, honestly. But she couldn't say much more really... Because it was time to go.
"Adora, I'm so, so sorry but--"
"It's time to go. " Adora finished for her and the pinkette sadly nodded. Adora sighed and reluctantly put Catra's bag to the side and led the way to the entrance of their hideout. Putting the note somewhere Catra would definitely see it upon entering.
"Let's get rid of Horde Prime. " Adora tried to get some of her motivation back as they went to get ready.
~~ not long after~~
"Adora?! Adora! " Catra skid into the cave, shouting for the blonde with urgency.
"She's not here." Shadow Weaver said drinking her wine.
Catra spat, "What do you mean, she's not here? Where is she?"
Shadow Weaver simply crawled, "She's gone to the Heart of Etheria to free the magic and become the hero she was born to be. If you are still so selfish as to try and stop--" Catra marched up to the sorceress and grabbed her by the collar.
"Enough! This isn't about you and your messed-up power trip anymore. Prime is doing something to the planet. He's infecting it. He's going for the Heart.--" Catra's eye caught a pink piece of paper and her curiosity grew.
"Oh right, she left a stupid note for you. " Shadow Weaver grumbled as Catra let go of her.
Catra unfolded it and her eyes scanned through the words. Until she had to read it about 3 times just to process it.What?.... 'She loves me?..... ' Catra blushed profusely as she thought about it.
Catra definitely needed to get to Adora more than she ever needed to. She composed herself and exhaled. She turned to Shadow Weaver, folding the paper and putting it into her pocket. A feeling finally allowed to ignite into a full flame inside her heart.
"Get us to Adora, now. "
