Cute.
Innocent.
"It's fine." She starts, but I cut her off.
"It's not fine, Mads. I was drinking, and I should have said something to Sadie when she went off on you like that."She nods to agree with me, but we're interrupted when Ethan walks into the kitchen in just a pair of boxers.
"I'm so fucking hungover." He groans, immediately grabbing the plate when he sees it. "Thank god you made breakfast."
"That's what happens when you drink." Maddie inputs. "Consequences.""Please, shut up." Ethan says. "I'm not in the mood today, Maddie."
She takes that as her cue to leave, and it bothers me that I feel like whatever happened last night isn't resolved between us. I've never felt like that. I've been a dick to her for the past three years and have never felt like apologizing. Is it because I fantasized about her last night? Is that what's different?
"How was Sadie?" Ethan smirks when we're both alone, and I have to act like I didn't use her to get his sister off my mind. I have to act like I actually liked it with her.
"Amazing head." I nod. "If you ever need it, she swallows.""Oh yeah?" A slow smile spreads across his face before he adds, "Jennifer does too."
"Oh, shit!" I can't stop the laughter, smacking him on the shoulder as he doubles over the island. "I knew she was going to give it up! She was all over you last night."
The front door opens, and I panic when I think it's Ethan's parents, but instead it's Maya, Maddie's best friend.
Her long black hair is tied in a ponytail on top of her head, her face lightly covered with makeup. She doesn't need it. She's gorgeous without it."Maddie's upstairs." I tell her, knowing what she's already about to ask. "I think in her room."
She glances around the disaster of the house at the heaps of plastic cups and beer bottles, biting on her lip to keep herself from saying something she shouldn't.
"Care to help?" Ethan asks."Hm..." she ponders, tapping a finger to her chin. "Help clean up a party I wasn't even invited to? I think I'll pass."
I know why she wasn't invited. I can't tell her why she wasn't invited, because if I do I'll get my dick chopped off by Ethan.
She disappears upstairs to go find Maddie, and Ethan stares longingly at her ass, shaking his head in disbelief.
"You've got it bad." I chuckle. "You should have invited her last night."
"Yeah right. How would that look? It would be completely obvious. Last night was a party for seniors, plus, Maddie would shoot me. She would murder me. Unfortunately Maya and that perfect fucking ass are off limits."
"I think Maya knows you're into her, bro. I'm pretty sure if you hit it she'd keep it a secret."
Ethan grabs two beers from the fridge and passes one over to me, and there's an expression on his face I can't seem to read. It's one I haven't seen before.
"I don't think Maya is the hit it and quit it type." He says seriously. "If I were to hit it, I don't think I'd be able to quit it."
"Oh really?" I ask in disbelief. "You've got it bad for her like that?"
"Oh yeah." He nods. "Completely. Too bad she and Maddie are fucking attached at the hip. Otherwise I would have made my move on her a loss ass time ago."
The beer travels down my throat, and in seconds it feels like my headache is already going away.
"I'm sure Maddie would understand if you tell her. If she knew that you felt that strongly then-"
"Are you kidding? This is Maddie we're talking about. Besides, there are just some things you don't do to a sibling. Like fuck their best friend. It'd be like her making a move on you." He shudders at the thought.I gulp.
Loudly.
"I guess you're right." I nod, and although I want to say so much more I keep my mouth closed.
I can't tell him how I'm honestly feeling. I can't tell him that I want to fuck Maddie into next week. I can't tell him that I pictured her face as I came inside of Sadie last night. If I do, he'll no longer be my best friend. He'll beat me to a pulp.
Plus, the feelings he has for Maya aren't the same feelings I have for Maddie. I don't get attached to anyone. Everyone in a ten mile radius knows that. I want to fuck her and get it out of my system. That's it. Nothing more.
"So, Jennifer told me that Kelsey is having a party at her place tonight." He says casually. "I guess her parents are out of town for the weekend too. You want to go?"
"Will Sadie be there?" I grin wickedly when he nods his head, the both of us erupting into another fit of laughter.
"What the hell, then?" I shrug. "Might as well go for round two, right?"
