Chapter 1

She awoke in the forest, her whole body was shaking from head to toe, as all the memories came flooding back. She remembered. She betrayed them. Quinn ran to the forest just a few hours prior. The forest was foggy and damp, the sun just coming up through the trees overhead. She stretched as she got up, her clothes sticking to her, wet from the rain of last night. She started walking, surprisingly calm, despite what she had done. The birds were singing their beautiful song of the morning. As she was walking across the wet orange leaves of fall, she heard something in the distance, Quinn couldn't quite tell what the sound was so she started walking towards it. The walk turned into a run until she was close enough to figure out what the sound was. It sounded like someone singing in the forest. As she took another step, a twig snapped under her foot "Who's there?" the person yelled out. It sounded like a girl! She looked harmless, so Quinn made the decision to walk out of the forest, revealing herself. "Who are you?" the girl asked with a trembling voice. Quinn just looked at her, confused. No one ever comes to this forest, Quinn thought. "Who are you?" the girl repeated, snapping Quinn back to reality. She looked at the girl and noticed she looked to be around 14 years of age, same as Quinn. The girl in the forest was mesmerizingly beautiful, she had short brown hair that ended just above her shoulders, green eyes from what Quinn could see, She had thin but tinted beautiful lips, she was wearing a light green dress just above knee length, that had a matching green ribbon twirled around her arms "I'm Quinn", "What are you doing here Quinn?" The girl said. "What's your name?" Quinn inquired. "You didn't answer my question" The girl said, "Well answer mine, so we can have a proper conversation.", "Fine, my name's Nova".
