Fire, and Parties

After about 10 minutes of peacefulness it was interrupted by the smell of smoke. I quickly flipped around and saw a bright fiery light, fire. The sound of screams broke out as I saw hurds of shifted and unshifted humans and wolves run from the ballroom. Worried and scared I started to scream out for my mother, I saw her running from the building crying and in distress. I quickly ran to her and we ran to a safe spot where everyone that had escaped was huddled. In all of the chaos everyone turned and felt their connection with their alpha break meaning one thing, he had died. Screams and sobs broke out but stopped when the alpha's son Ezekiel ran out of the rubble just in time. He was beaten and his back was pulsing blood, he was a sobbing mess. His mother behind him in shock was also not doing well. If a mate dies its most common the other dies after.
I ignore every outside disturbance and continue to hug my mother, embracing her in my arms. Only slightly worried for the young alpha. Sirens of ambulances, police and fire trucks could be heard not far in the distance. After everyone went home and was checked up on, it was told there were another 100 losses. A happy day turned into a disaster.
I never saw Ezekiel again. Rumors spread he was training to become head of the pack and avenge his father.

8 Years Later

The morning of April 12, it was Alpha Ezekiel's birthday but also the anniversary of the fire that caused the former alpha to pass. Since The alpha of our pack was turning 20 he decided to have another gathering. The pack was hesitant but decided after 8 years they should get together and forget about the past. I got dressed in a slick satin button up that showed a sliver of my chest, I put on a pair of heels that made me grow 3 inches (5 '10) and a pair of tight rubber like pants. My mom refused to come along this time. Although I was disappointed, I gladly went by myself.
When I arrived I saw the familiar castle-like mansion in front of me. Memories began flooding my head. I simply shook them off and went inside the building. The building was almost the same as the one that burnt down. It's said that Ezekiel helped rebuild the building himself after his father died. However instead of marble, the inside looked to almost be made entirely of gold. The gems on the walls sparkled as the sun hit them.
After gawing at the interior I was greeted with a butler who took my bag and coat. He directed me into the ballroom where there were tables, food, wine, and most importantly the alpha leader himself. Sitting down at the same table I sat the night at the fire, I grabbed some wine and talked to people who came up to me.
